VCS Parking 'Fine' on Private Land

Good evening,
I've read all the newbie threads and understand what process I've got to follow.(flow chart is so helpful) There's an awful lot of work that people kindly put into this!
A parking fine was attached to the windscreen of my vehicle. It was parked on private land in a virtually empty car park.
I will await the Notice to Keeper arriving and reply with a soft appeal. I am aware this can be a lengthy process and I was wondering if there was anything I could be doing or researching to help my appeal before we get to the POPLA stage?
I have read the threads where VCS have tried to 'fine' people on Airport Land but in my situation it's private land. Can anyone suggest an easy (and free!) way to identify the land owner so I can contact them also (no details of owner displayed in the car park) Reading the threads it looks like GPEOL is probably going to be the best grounds I have, do people have any thoughts about what I could cite?
Thanks in advance

Just follow the newbie thread for now. But please edit out the exact timings in your post, if you look below in my signature it tells you why. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

use the template for the initial appeal
use not a gpeol, no contract , poor signage and any other appeal points that are relevant for a popla appeal , so the template points and maybe a few more
vcs , excel , same companies ; so any private excel appeal will also suffice, never mind the other ones0 -
P.s. It's not a fine!Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Good afternoon,
I've spent most of today reading the forums and doing research about this piece of land that's being used as a car park. I've found that it s referred to as plot 12 East Quayside Newcastle. I've been trying to find an owner but I think what I have discovered is far more interesting and I'm really hoping that it can help me in some way.
It seems that the car park has tried to gain retrospective planning permission and has failed. They have been ordered by the council to remove all signage and pay machines from the site as it is not a safe or secure car park facility. I have got the link to the online document but MSE will not let me post it as I am a new user.
From what I can see it is still in force. I think I could post it like this. Obviously 3 W's to begin with.
newcastle.gov.uk/planning-and-buildings/planning-applications/planning-enforcement/enforcement-register
Can any one have a look and see if they think it can help me?
Many thanks in advance0 -
