Who has priority at this junction?

I said that to my daughter a couple of days after she passed her test. I lept asking her about the road ahead and hazards approaching.
As i approached a parked car i sped up pass it before the vehicle coming the other way.
I said if that car also sped up who would have right of way. She correctly said the other driver. But i said wrong. I have right of way because my cars bigger and i dont care if i damage it.
She had to think about that one. Hopefully a lesson that just because you have right of way doesnt mean someone will force their way through no matter what.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It's disappointing that so soon after she'd passed her test she'd forgotten that no-one ever has "right of way ".0 -
Yep, But there is only so much they can teach them.
Learning what happens when you brake on a wet bend and what happens when you drive too fast for the conditions and if you dont look properly at junctions is something they have to teach themselves.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Interesting perspective.
When people they say they have right of way, I think that what they mean is they are not in a position where they should have to yield to other road users if they are driving responsibly.
Obviously, as demonstrated by forgotmyname, there are times when you will have to yield even though you shouldn't have to.What will your verse be?

Hence why I said Stop-type junction.

Priority in this order:
- Bin lorry
- Lorry
- White van
- 4x4 ...

This looks daft at first, but if you just imagine it as a roundabout without the round it's not too bad. Turn up at a junction, give way. If someone is already in the square, give way. if not, use your judgement. You do this at a crossroads anyway when there's someone across from you.
It would make more sense to me if the road with the zebra crossing on it just went straight through, then we would have a normal crossroads.
I also have no idea what the bikes with the '5' underneath them mean. Is that a cycle route?!0
