Bother. I got divorced recently but I never thought to ask for maintenance for the cat. Missed a trick there? :rotfl:
Seriously - Harry kept the dog, he gets to enjoy it and pay for it, that's life.

  • As long as Harry is willing to share Ron, he can ask for "maintenance"!
  • Shoot the dog its a waste of money. You will never get on financially if you heamorage cash on such a pointless item. What is the point in Martin doing his best to get all these special offers and deals to us to save mony if some numpty is going to blow it all on a dog.

The only other option is to get the dog a job and make the little so and so pay for his keep, Spongeing little sod.

This would never have happened if they both signed a pre-pup.

Yes she should, you pay maintainance for children, so why not animals. They should get insurance as well.

errrr....because they are animals?? Not the same at all.

Harry should offer Hermione first refusal on the dog and if she doesn't want it, rehome it.

Yes, I think Hermione should contribute. She committed to sharing the responsibility when they got the dog. However I also think that gives her the right to have custody of the dog if she wants it (although it sounds like she isn't able to).

When my friend split with her fiance they had just got a dog together. She asked him how she was supposed to look after it on her own and he told her it wasn't his problem and to give it back to dog rescue. Nice. She had the last laugh though and weed in his orange juice carton in the fridge!!!

Harry has the dog - he should pay!
  • I don't think much of the people who so casually suggest re-homing the dog. All the unwanted pets out there, and you think they should add to the number? If you can't keep it, don't get it. To get back to the actual question, if Hermione still spends time with the dog, she should contribute. If she doesn't, then it's not her problem unless she still wants him in which case Harry should give him up.

Cut the dog in half and have 50% each :D
