Money Moral Dilemma: Should Hermione contribute to Harry's dog Ron?

Rather than cut the poor little pooch in two, simply reduce the costs incurred in keeping him.
For example use Tesco code XX-CVHT when ordering £50 worth of dog food/treats/groceries and receive 1000 extra points which is like getting £40 off.0 -
Are answers on this site not monitored? I think it appalling firstly that Elliot has said what they have and that secondly, its been allowed to be shown. With calous disgusting answers such as that, it creates a case in my mind for a number of human beings to be 'put to sleep'.0

I think Elliot was probably joking? Anyway I had cats with a man and when we split up I kept them and he never contributed a penny and it didn't occur to me to ask, one is now dead, the other is still alive and kicking at 16/17.
I did later have a kid with another man and that louse thought he could get away without every paying child support - I didn't as easily accept that though!0 -

Sheesh. Perspective, please. I'm a dog lover myself, but this is a hypothetical discussion. Did you complain to the publisher about the canine mis-treatment in Richard Adam's Plague Dogs?
And people are entitled to their opinions, even if you find them distasteful. If, in a real life situation, someone would euthanase a dog, that is between them and the vet, whom I'm sure would refuse if the dog were healthy. But you know, since the expenses seem so high, perhaps the hypothetical dog is sick and would be better off out of pain!
Hypothetically yours...0 -
I don't know what Hermione should do now, but since Harry is "struggling to deal with household bills alone" it sounds as if they would have both been wise to take a pre-marital or relationship psychometric inventory before they started to cohabit. Let's hope Hermione and Harry do that next time.0

I think they should get a taxidermist in (sharing the bill) and then the cost of keeping Ron will fall to zero (and he'll last a whole lot longer)!0
-
If he can't afford the dog, then he should give Hermione first refusal on taking it. If neither can afford the dog, it should be rehomed. You do not 'share' a dog in the same way that you 'share' a child - you can buy and sell a dog, for example.
Both should then take good heed of the experience and thank their lucky stars it was a dog and not a child. Hopefully they'll learn from it - for everybody's sake.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Harry got the benefit of the dog so he should pay for it0
-
I would have no problem going 50/50 if that happened as I'd still want to see my dogs and make sure they were well provided for. I probably pay more than 50% now just because of the way things have worked with vets bills etc but I don't mind as they're worth it.
If she wasn't seeing the dog then I'd say a 25/75 split might be fairer but definately some contribution since it was a joint acquisition.
And as for a dog not being seriously affected by not seeing one of their owners...tell that to my two who have been pining for my OH all weekend and are now giving him the silent treatment for leaving them!0 -
YES !YES! YES!
Or find someone who will love him lots to rehome with.
And if you're not an animal lover .........please leave this section of the site !0
