Actually, some carriers (tmobile/Virgin if I recollect)charge you twice - One for sending the call to the overseas network, and another for sending the call back to your Voicemail in the UK.0

Definitely didn't get to that stage, at least when I was making an experiment call. I declined from the other phone quickly.
But nonetheless, it could have been much worse. Lesson learned - always on airplane mode, only turn on carrier for a short amount of time to check txts!0 -

Turn off voicemail before leaving the UK.
Or use a service like Hullomail which you set to divert all calls to voicemail before leaving the UK, then you can access your voicemail without charge via the App on wifi, or through their website at an internet cafe/laptop/Ipad etc.0 -
Just dont turn your phone on when you are abroad or else diverted call to hullomail will charged same way as voice mail in foreign country.dealer_wins wrote: »Turn off voicemail before leaving the UK.

If you switch you mobile off it still is registered on foreign network untill your phone is back in uk and switched on and connects to home network.0
