How do I get my new remote control to work?

Options
Hi Folks

I just had my new remote control for Sky delivered today. I've tried a few codes on the remote to try and make it work for the TV. However, all the functions seem to work with some of the codes, except I can't adjust the volume or get mute to work.

Can anybody advice what needs to be done?

Thanks

    Hi There

Yes I've tried those codes - they don't work.

Try selecting interactive on your sky remote, one of the options is programming the remote for use with your TV.

Sky are not listing that model of TV on interactive or even on the posted website above for any remote from Revision 4 onwards. So unless someone has already tried it and posts their result on here it would seem the OP needs to try the search method which goes through every code for that manufacturer

Depending on the REV number of the new remote 3 others to try would be 0679 , 0681 , 0533 , although I would have expected a " new " remote to work with ......

If it's a genuine Sky remote it will have a Rev. number on a label inside the battery compartment. Otherwise, it's a cheap Chinese copy that's unlikely to control your TV.

I've seen people giving the telly a thump on the side when it isn't working properly. So maybe a remote is the same. Bang it on the wall.
