Better add me to the list. Friday morning coming. Am spending today and Thursday (days off) doing the forms. So worried, in fact frightened would be nearer the truth!
When I rang for the appointment the girl was lovely, when I asked where I needed to go, were there signs etc, she told me but said, don't worry, we'll be expecting you and will look out for you. She also said, if you're a bit late, I know what the traffic is like so don't worry about it. (I have to drive for an hour or so at rush hour to get there) I hope that bodes well for the rest of the experience, however I dreamt about it last night, that when I got there I had to go along several long corridors and didn't know where to go. In the end I asked someone, and they said, you have to work it out for yourself, finding the right court is part of the challenge and penalty for being bankrupt. Oh dear!
I'm so worried, though this forum has helped allayed some of the fears and at least given me the info to help me make informed decisions about what to do, it's been marvellous. Some things are still up in the air, - I'm going to have a payment order I'm sure, but what happens between the date of bankruptcy and the day I start paying? Do you have to keep money aside?
Lots of unknowns but for once I don't have control over this and will just have to go with the flow.
Good luck to other Septemberees!!!

Hi EJ and welcome to September's BR Club, I've added your name to post one
I remember those dreams and it's not as good as you wish but it's never as bad as you fear, do let us know how you get on.
As far as I can remember you only start paying once your IPA has been agreed and form signed, do ask on the main BR board to double check.
My check list, what to take to court :-
- Your two copies of 6.27 and 6.28 and the Originals, do not sign them, you do this in front of the clerk. Your completed EX160 if applicable and any benefit letters/forms etc as proof (Important - letters have to be dated within one month of your court date and no later).
- Money for bankruptcy fees.
- Spare change for coffee machine.
- Paper or magazine to read while waiting.
- Change for car park.
- Optional a friend to chat to/hold hand.
NB Do ring the BR Clerk at your court as to what they require from you, as it does differ from court to court.
Best wishes

I just saw this and wanted to pop in and reassure people going through this that it is a fantastic new start.
I went bankrupt in 2011 after many many years of stress and juggling, and finally a divorce which allowed me to ditch the !!!!!! with a mad spending habit and serious debt problems, and also ditch the debt he had lumbered me with.
Since then I have happily been able to live within my means, had extra money for treats for the children and generally lived extremely happily without this burden on my shoulders.
I am slowly building my own credit history and have had no problems getting household insurance, car insurance, mobile phone and tablet contracts etc etc.
It was the second best decision I ever made (after ditching the !!!!!!) and I would recommend it to anyone who is in a similar situation. It is a clean slate, a fresh start and you can wave goodbye to all that horrific stress and worry.
Good luck all.

Well as of 10:20 this morning I'm officially bankrupt! In and out of the court so quick my bum hardly touched the seat!
That was the easy (if rather expensive) bit over - now I'm just waiting for the call from the OR which is the bit I'm dreading!xxx Nikki xxx0 -

I'm so pleased all went well Nikkisun and here's to your new start
The OR interview is nothing to worry about, its just for the OR to get a feel why you went BR. Before the call just look through your 6.28/SOA so your familiar with what you have said. The OR will just go through your 6.28/SOA with you. Also before the call have a big mug of tea ready or a bottle of water, and while they are writing things down you can have sips of tea/water, so you don't feel you have to fill in the pauses. And if you don’t know the answer to a question just say so. Do have a list with all questions ‘you’ want to ask. Can last anything from half an hour to an hour and a half.
Best wishes

Hi Nikkisun
I popped in while finishing my 6.28 just to see if you had reported back and lo and behold, yes you have!
So glad it went ok for you, dreading tomorrow morning but this time tomorrow I'll be at work and hopefully forgotten about it. Did you have a brief call from the OR either at court or afterwards? I gather some people do and some don't.
All the best and keep us posted with developments.
