No, it was the fact that a member with 5000+ post count, who would otherwise be regarded as an 'experienced' member, decided to get sarcastic with a new member of the forum, since he seems to 'know everything' before checking the facts.
Upon checking the facts and realising how wrong he was, and how silly he actually looked, everything suddenly went quiet.0 -
Can we please keep on topic, I have subscribed to try and get more opinions and instead I am getting involved about mortgage tips0

What is everyone thoughts on the Tesco Clubcard Credit Card?0
-
I thought the Tesco credit card was quite good - not in terms of the points earned or customer service, I agree, but even though users earn fewer points, with the ClubCard Boost offers, the points go a lot, lot further.
For example, £2.50 in points can be exchanged into £10 of 'Going Out' vouchers, for use at theme parks etc, which is pretty good IMO.
I guess it comes down to what you will be using the points for - take a look at the clubcard rewards website and see if there are any offers for exchanging points into something you'd actually like - going out, dinners, hotels, cinema tickets, and so on......0 -
Again. There seems to have been quite a bit of that lately. Rather too much, in fact.
i don't believe that this is part of it, and i think the guy involved may actually have been treated harshly here, sorry Froggitt, but there is no doubt that the reporting system here is abused. people with agendas round on people and the moderators support their abuse.
yes, i don't see the Tesco card as a really good alternative. Amex is the leading card, and it seems will remain so. other Cashback options are very limited nowadays, and the 'dual card' offerings don't appeal to me.0 -

The clubcard credit card will earn you 5 points per £4 spend (1.25% cashback, worth up to 5% in the quadruple boost)
If you will be making use of the quadruple boosts, then it might be worth considering. However;
1) The clubcard only confers an additional 0.25% of straight benefit (yes, this can be boosted to an extra 1% in some circumstances), so for most people, even a 0.5% cashback card used alongside the standard clubcard will be better
2) The quadruple boosts are often not 'worth' the price they state, in that turning £2.50 into £10 of PizzaExpress vouchers is all well and good, but many people never pay full price at PizzaExpress (and this goes for essentially all participating venues) what with all the deals they offer, deals you would be missing out on by having to buy things at full price with your vouchers.0 -

I have an offset mortgage, so I plan on paying £10,000 on my cashback credit card every couple of weeks, paying it back every couple of weeks, rinsing and repeating until I hit my £100,000 cashback target. At which point I will be sailing around the world for a couple of years courtesy Natwest, and thanks to my little friend above for alerting me to this great deal.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
