Yes we have done, last move 8 years ago, £5 each plus a box of cans of lager.

Yes we did. £80 between the four of them plus lots of cups of tea, bacon sandwiches and cakes/biscuits. They packed the house in Warwickshire on a Friday and then unpacked in Kent the next day. We moved from a bungalow to a three storey house and one poor removal man had a huge lump on his head from hitting his head on the soil pipe running through the cellar multiple times.

tea and tub of chocolates to keep them going, then 80 quid (4 of them were all day, 2 extras arrived in the pm) at the end.

They did a really good job and worked their a**es off!

Money for coffee and bacon butties from a local cafe during the move, plus money for lunch when we had to wait an hour to get into the new property and about a tenner a head at the end.

I had a man/van moving me 2 miles up the road. One full transit full, two of them did it .... probably 2.5 hours' work - ground floor/good access, to ground floor through patio doors (so good access). Dry weather, nothing large/heavy, just one regular sofa, a 47cm fridge and a washing machine. I gave them £10.

Thanks all, that's useful to know. Mind you they have packed me so well for tomorrow's move that although I have the wherewithal for dinner and breakfast, I have no cutlery to prepare food or eat it!

We gave ours £50 to sort out between themselves. It worked out to £10 per person per day though. We had two guys for two days, then they were joined on the second day by a third.
