Simple Solution (from Pets at Home) removes most of the smell of pet urine from carpet, so the animal doesn't re-mark on that spot. It is also supposed to remove stains, but I think this is if the stain is fresh and not dried in.
I'm sure the OP doesn't want her friend 'remarking' the bed!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Hows do I spell this out, "It's not pet urine", it's your frie...................I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Considering your friend acted like an animal (could not resist, sorry) I do think that it is a good idea that you look into getting rid of the scent through some of the aforementioned animal methods. I do not think that the stain is going to be removed easily though – unfortunately.0

I'm pretty sure "How Clean Is Your House" (Kim & Aggie) covered this in an episode. IIRC it involved repeated wiping down with a soapy cloth, "rinsing" (wiping over) with clean cloth/plain water, and then the most important bit - blotting/drying. I seem to remember they did this by laying the mattress on the floor with an old towel underneath (in the "marked" spot), another on top of the mattress, and then jumping up and down. In the event of heavy staining/smells, then repeat as necessary. I wish I could find the video for you - at least it would give you a laugh
Personally, I find antibacterial spray good at removing odours, but unless the mattress is dried thoroughly both sides, I've a feeling that smells will linger (and these could just be damp smells). So I'd say it's more important to dry it out, if possible by standing it upright so that it airs, and if possible in the sunshine.
You don't say if you have a divan base, but if it is, then you need to repeat the above with that too although you wouldn't be able to "push" any moisture through as with the mattress - you'd just have to blot from the top.
I hope this makes sense! And if nothing else, at least you'll get a good workout0 -
Get some Zybax, this is exactly what it was designed for.0

Another vote for this productIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Employ a carpet cleaner they have the equipment and anti bacterial solutions to deep clean it0

Don't bother with the pet stuff, biological washing products do the same thing.
Bicarb with lavender oil sprinkled, left to dry then hoovered is good too.0
