What does £200k buy you in Britain away from the cities?

I have friends that are looking at upping sticks and moving away from the South East and it has made me wonder how far does £200k stretch in Britain outside of our cities? Where I live £200k might buy a one bed cluster home but more likely a flat.
For instance can you get coastal detached with sea views and land for that kind of money?
Please post any examples if you are from an area or watch an area where £200k really can buy a vastly improved home environment over a one bed cluster house.

Rightmove, the land registry and google are excellent sources for things like this.0

On the northeast coast, an ok 3/4 bed pad by the sea.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0

I realise I can rightmove away to my hearts content but hoped this could be more of an aspirational thread where particular gems could be unearthed for all to see.
A brief flick along the South Coast and this caught my eye just for its appearance
I cant post links yet:eek:!0 -
20 miles north of Manchester on an easy commute to city centre there are decent 4 bed detached available under £200k0

Is a cluster house what we'd call a 4 in a block in Scotland?
This one's certainly got clutter

Doubt if you'd get anything too palatial plus land on the coast anywhere, thought maybe some of the Scottish islands would give you croft land0 -
There is a regular supply of 4 bed detached houses like this one in the Worksop, North Nottinghamshire area for 170-200k.
This isnt a particularly special example, but there are loads similar to this:

Yes.
This one's 180K.
Which leaves you 20K to redecorate to your taste.

You can do a whole of England search on the Zoopla site and see the results on a map.
e.g. a search for: England, houses, 2 or more bedrooms, £180-200k, gives you nearly 20,000 results, so let's assume half of them are "proper houses to actually buy and live in". Which is a lot.
Adjusting the search for 3 bedroom, detached, houses (just to make the numbers smaller), with a garage/parking and garden and we've got 4650 results ... http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/map/houses/england/?beds_min=3&feature=has_garden&feature=has_parking_garage&include_retirement_homes=true&include_shared_ownership=true&new_homes=include&price_max=200000&price_min=180000&property_sub_type=detached&q=england&radius=0&results_sort=newest_listings&search_source=refine&pn=1&view_type=map
Or, how about spending £130-160k? http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/map/houses/england/?beds_min=3&feature=has_garden&feature=has_parking_garage&include_retirement_homes=true&include_shared_ownership=true&new_homes=include&price_max=160000&price_min=130000&property_sub_type=detached&q=england&radius=0&results_sort=newest_listings&search_source=refine&pn=1&view_type=map0
