Why is it necessary to have the ability to pay at the time other than to strengthen the argument that it is a disguised penalty ?
    Why wouldn't this suffice ?

"If you wish to stay longer than 2 hours in any 24 hr period you will be issued with an invoice to the address of the registered keeper of the vehicle detailing payment options . The charge for this will be £100 or £60 if you decide to pay within 28 days of the invoice . Payment is accepted by cash , cheque , credit/debit card or BACS

I've never seen an invoice for a split tariff based on when I pay.

My plumber sends invoices with a pay-by date and a charge of 3% interest on any balance outstanding by then, but I've never seen an invoice of "$x, but $x/2 if you pay quickly". It's done purely to mimic a council ticket.

Of course, if it was genuinely an invoice for parking for a reasonable amount, most people would pay it, and PPC's would go broke because they can't make money that way.

Once again (just like that mythical £100 figure) it's PPC land's attempt to imitate council tickets and fool people into thinking they are real.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

With the judgement imminent, will we get notice that it is going to be handed down or will it just be issued?

in a recent thread on here , bargepole stated that the counsel will get 2 days notice in case of errors etc, only then will it go out on general release, so I have to believe him and his anecdote

Yeah, I seen that too, but will we know that they have received it, so to expect the judgement or it will all be hush hush until released?

We probably won't know anything until it's released.

    Yes - tomorrow, Thursday 23/4/2015 @ 10.30am.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Interesting,

I spoke to Listings yesterday and they had not been told when the judgment would be presented to them to publish.

The Clerk told me that they usually were given notice a couple of days prior.

She also said that the Judges had up to three months to deliberate.

If it is in the public domain tomorrow, Well a bold hurrah!

Still steaming and most JonnyRotten, even in the wondrous sunny heatwave.
