They sort of apologised once they were called out on the bipolar comment I neither got an apology or the pm conversation we never had sent.

I also don't usually call troll, there is usually good advice on them anyway so I usually don't post I have just got tired of the same style troll posts plus had a truly horrendous weekend.

Why would someone pretend to have a son who smokes weed and then pretend to shop him to the police? (I'm not being rude, just genuinely curious). What do people gain from this type of trolling? Apart from annoying people over the internet for no reason.

If they are written by the same person then MSE should IP ban multi users. The trolling and troll hunting (which ironically is probably being started by one of the multi trolls) is killing the forum.

I am getting to the point where if an OP has join date of 2014 I ignore the thread because its going to descend into a bickering farce, I'm also now not paying much attention to any poster with a 2014 join date.

My join date is December 2013, am I safe? :p I hope so, I like it on here (well most of it)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^This! exactly what I was going to say. There is a group of, or one malicious person with multiple usernames, who is calling troll on any new poster or anyone posting with serious problems.
I have no idea of this ogre who stalks the boards but mention "troll" and I become incandescent with rage as that term belonged 20 years ago.

I never notice anyone else here or whether they are stirrers. Most often I just say my piece and clear off for a few weeks, I rarely stay around for a reply and those who count their thanks are very sad indeed. I think those who notice such things are nosy neighbours and lace curtain movers. (Sarci, see neighbour thread.)

There are some here who take the site far too seriously such as those who read a post out to their husband?

Nah, if you read it you'd see we all think troll or jot it should have ran.

I really don't see why people get worked up about whether somebody is a troll or not, if the OP raises an interesting discussion and isn't abusing anyone then what is the big deal?
It seems to me that becoming 'troll hunting' obsessed we are only adding fuel to the fire.
As i tell my kids about annoying children, just ignore them and they will go away.
I do feel often people are unfairly declared trolls due to a recent join date, or the extent of a problem etc, well we were all new users once and i know i for one have posted some pretty wacky problems or dilemmas. .
I like to give the benefit of the doubt and err on the positive side.

Me too. There isn't anything in the terms about discussions relating to currently illegal activities I don't think. Im not sure pulling threads helps with the current atmosphere tbh.
