Talking of pesky kids .... it's school pick up time ..... oh the joys of standing in the playground for half an hour! Get there at 2.50pm, son finishes at 3pm, DD finishes at 3.15pm but never gets out before 3.25pm because she goes to the library after school ...... *sigh* catch you laterOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Hiya - in our area you just get 12.5 hours of nursery a week, rather than 2.5 hours a day. So they can go, say, all day Monday and Tuesday, and half day Wednesday, or they can go 5 mornings a week, or 5 afternoons a week - whatever you prefer (although you have to put their name down and it's first come first serve on getting the hours you want). But if they do that near you, it would give you a bit more freedom to get some part time work.
Re the carpet - I think you should keep it looking grubby, and give big puppy dog eyes to the camera and tell them how much you would love a clean new carpet for your children to play on - and then hope that one of the big carpet companies is watching and steps in to re-carpet it for free for you. It would be great publicity for them! Hehehe."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

*sigh* there's no point me looking for work. Not only would we have to pay for K.. we'd have to pay for Ash during the school holidays as well.

You would be able to include the cost of holiday time childcare in your tax credit claim though - I think there are 13 weeks holiday a year roughly, so you find out how much per week, times by 13, then divide by 52 to get the weekly cost.
Did that make sense?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

If I understood it right, you will only have a very small shortfall - and you are pretty much an expert at finding money from nowhere, so I'm sure you will cope. On paper we have a big deficit at the moment, but with overtime, cutting back as much as we can and finding extra money from cashback sites, bingo etc, we are managing. And Hypno is another great example of someone who admits to a deficit income, but still manages to pay big chunks off her debt AND save for her girls to go skiing etc.
You will survive....oh as long as you know how to love you know you'll.......oh, hang on, got lost in karaoke for a second there......
Is Ste not due a payrise any time soon?
And there's always the band - presumably you will be wanting to do some gigs (if you ever find a singer :rotfl:), which might bring in some money (small at first I would think, but may increase as you get yourselves known).
