Cream carpets always seem like a good idea! I had one in the front room but I had to take it up when the stains got to bad... It looks like my bedroom carpet is going the same way..... I do own a bissell carpet cleaner but it takes so much time I never use it.... I must ebay that at some point....................

P.S That Picture of the girls is lovely. I love the way K has her hands held together.

  • I would still let Ash go for the funded sessions whether you go back to work or not as the interaction with other kids will do her good and start getting her prepared for school. It's free afterall, and it will be nice for you to have some time just with K.

  • My beige front room carpet is really grubby. It is old and horrid but we live in a privately rented house and are moving next year so I am damned if I am going to buy a new one! I just keep getting the vax out to shampoo it.

    Hiya IA

    Just a thought about work.
Do any factories near you use outworkers? When my kids were small where we used to live all the mums seemed to do outwork, there was the pen factory (nice work if you could get it but mostly went to former employees) another one sent out these wire things to be wound up round something, another one you had to make brushes for a certain ceiling covering, I used to do some for the place where my ex OH worked sticking velco stickers onto plastic wallets. All these jobs paid 'proper' money, not like the stuffing envelopes for months on end and earning 50p!

I know its not easy to do stuff when the kids are there, but maybe you could find something you could do in the evenings for a couple of hours.

Just a word of warning though, don't whatever you do take on painting model soldiers, dogs, cottages etc, a mate of mine did, it used to take her an hour to set all the paints and stuff up, after half an hour she had a headache cos of the paint and it being so fiddly, then another hour to pack it away lol

Re the carpet, easy...when they come to film lay large sheet down and get the kids to do painting...point out how moneysaving it is to buy a cheap sheet from tescos to save your carpet lol

  • *shiver* *shiver* *shiver* OMG it's so cold today brrrrrrr.
Had a rubbish night with K last night. They both went to bed fine at 7. I was knackered so went to bed about 10.30. 10 mins later K wakes up and kicks off. She wouldn't settle so I took her downstairs to Ste who was up playing games. He brought her back to bed about 12 and came to bed himself.. at which point all hell broke loose. She had calpol... no good.. came into bed with us for a bit where she was calm, but as soon as we put her back in her own bed she kicked off again so I ended up bringing her downstairs and giving her a bottle at 1am. She eventually went back to sleep at 1.30am *sob* Not impressive but I'm guessing it's her teeth again.. the joys of kids eh?
Today is happy tax credit wednesday so can do the shopping tonight. This week Ste's given me his £10 to get him extra thing slike cup a soups etc to get him through the day instead of spending a fortune on canteen food. We'll see what happens anyway. I even made bread last night as we didn't have any money to buy any and we'd ran out. I forgot how easy it was to make! :)

    Anyway.. plan for today..

work out when we can get egg paid off
    make shopping list for tonight
Ste to find out what foods he can eat at his desk

    Morning I-A
the problem with eating at your desk is not just the mess it might (in my case does) make, but that you never actually get a break.
My OH had to walk to a sandwich bar when he worked in the city or he never stopped during the day. (I suggested that he walked to the sandwich bar, came back and ate HM lunch but that didn't seem to appeal ;) )
  • Right... in good news the little something extra I was going to get Ste has been dropped to £9.99 (+ my 10% off :D) so I'll save £10.99 on that :D

Have been working out the money to pay egg off...

    20th £145.12 ste wages
£37.26 (?) Sar wages (should find out today for definately what my hours are for sat)
    22nd £37.36 (?) Sar wages
    29th £120.80 child benefit + £37.36 (?) Sar wages
= £377.70 and egg paid off including Ste and I getting the extra little pressie each and getting a couple birthday presents using the card :) :T

We'll have to use our tax credits for our xmas beer etc but it should be fine as we won't be having band practice til after xmas now so we'll have an extra £10 to play with. :)
