    #3 for me :)

I resisted pleas from ds2 (aged 15) to purchase water and made him wait until we got home (15 mins) was that going too far?!

I was determined to grab #3 but, apparently, driving past the river was torture :rotfl: :rotfl:

I certainly will budget for new decs next year. I have a lot budgeted for in this way (except for clothes - I need to add a budget for this next year) but I didn't budget for xmas decs because of the wedding, I thought I'd do without but I've decided I can't!!

I'm really glad that you like my suggestion.Thanks.It's amazing how a small sum of money can add up over the months.
I've just added up all my various budget pots, and I have 40 of them!
That is a great idea.My decs were ruined in a flood and all had to go.

I'll do without this year then save £5 per month to buy new ones next year - love that idea! Thanks marmite

    Also no offence taken either!

Oh,that's good -glad to help. :)

I didn't think I'd offended you really.I think I can guess who's going to be crowned Dux as well. ;)
Don't forget you can make Christmas decorations out of green stuff from the garden, foraged pine cones sprayed white or silver and sprinkled with glitter, and a nice table decoration can be made by getting a plain thick pillar candle, putting it on a plate or cake stand, piling up clementines around it and putting the odd bit of holly/Christmas bauble/pine cone/bunch of cinnamon sticks etc amongst the fruit. No need to spend a fortune each year on decorations, just have a tradition where on the first of December (or whatever day you choose) you go to a big store such as Mr Lewis's emporium and buy just one really nice Christmas tree ornament that means something special to you. You can inscribe the year in a discreet place on it, and every year you get a new one until you have a really nice collection with a load of memories attached.

    Some great suggestions Nargle.

Just got to ask: has the Narglehooter recovered from yesterday?
That really is a nice word -Narglehooter.Do you know what happened to the smoked kippers in the end? Please let it be something edible this time. The school really doesn't need any more bad press.
  • NSD No 3 today. It feels like ages since I had one!! Plenty more days in September to hit my target.

I think this is #4.You've already claimed for #3. :money:

Nintud no,it wasn't too much to wait 15 minutes for some water.

Today was #8 for me.I'm very pleased with myself.
I got all the washing done and a lot of gardening too.
  • I forgot to say that I'll update tomorrow,as feeling quite a bit wabbit (lovely Scottish word meaning tired).

Sweet dreams to all of you.

    :hello: Hi all NSDers

Been away since last night and t2rry has already got everyone talking about the 'c' word

Well if you can't beat them join them :rotfl:I admit to not having Christmas decorations anymore except for a few discreet bits hung up high..............This is from many years ago when the late Orphan was a pup. I was a bad dog mum then and knew very little about them and I had put up a tree:o Came home to find it demolished and hadn't realised he had eaten lots of tinsel until he started depositing lots of green/red/gold sparky poo when I took him for a walk:eek: I didn't know then how dangerous it was and thank heavens he had no ill effects from it but I shudder now to think of the damage he could have done to himself:eek: so I found abstinence the best way forward. :) I usually used to offer to work at Christmas too so there were always decorations there. The last few years I have been going to mum's for Christmas and the house is extremely well decorated and I think she has enough to decorate the whole of Oxford Street! In fact I hear my sister has banned her from buying anymore decorations or crackers until about 2025:rotfl:

Despite the proliferation of decorations there these days she used to do what you said Nargle; I remember lots of holly and laurel leaves sprayed and draped with a bit of lametta and pine cones everywhere; I think it was her primary school teacher training :rotfl:We used to spend hours out collecting such stuff as decorations were made of as kids:D. They always did look lovely.

Budgetting...........I'm trying but am really beginning to feel the pinch of the wage drop, have had one possibly two overtime shifts I had put down for cancelled too :( But the freedom from toxicty in doing the nights does outweigh this :) Well it does at the moment anyway; might look at an agency to get the odd shift in with when I can.

I'm up to NSD number 10:j. I know I have got to spend on Friday as I've got a hairdressers appointment (booked a while ago) but I am going to go into the college and see if I can register as a model to try and get this far cheaper.

I have also been invited out for a meal on Friday by a friend who wants to treat me which will be lovely, see if it happens though as someone has already cried off and she may decide not to go out. have got to meet someone else on Thursday but will see how that goes, if my electric lasts till then I'm hoping I can get it all done in the one day.

    See you all tomorrow xxx

NSD #8 for me yesterday. Bought 2 birthday cards but they are necessary and out of gift budget so not counting it!

Also - on the topic of Christmas, £5 per month would never be enough for my decorations!!! I reckon I will limit this years spend to £200 which I'm sure will horrify some of you but that's just the way my Christmas rolls!

Plus Nargle, you should see my current collection of pine cones for my wedding...I literally have about 1000!!!!
