Before you worry too much about heading back, have you received a windscreen ticket or a NTK through the post? You do have 28 days to appeal the NTK so if you are going back you may have time still to deal with PCN.
If you have the NTK then you should appeal using the template in the newbies thread (see my signature)

  • I received a window ticket last Saturday but want to find out who owns the car park and get in contact with them as I have read in here that this might be a way of getting it overturned.

Googling would have taken less time than posting a thread

Assuming it hasn't changed hands since but I'm not googling that for you ;)
  • Diamond work :D
  • After receiving a parking ticket last month, I've been following the process on here in regards to appeals etc...

Today I received the NKT and am ready to press on with the next stage.

But... As a result, I've been going over my ticket again and have found at least one (maybe more) inaccuracies. They are as follows...

The ticket states "Location: ELLAND RD INDUST" but the NKT states the location/land as "REVIE RD INDUSTRIAL PARK".

Also, the date isn't the most legible and could easily be misinterpreted as "2011" not "2014". Same could be said of the time... Even I'm not sure if it stated "12.12" or "12.42".

Does any of this affect my appeal or am I just "!!!!ing in the wind"?

    Thanks in advance

ps. The idiot who issued it has even managed to spell the name of my car wrong and say it's blue (it's clearly silver) but i'm not hung up on those.

We need to keep all this information on one thread. I will pm a mod and ask for a merge.

Difficult to say without knowing if this is a council or private parking ticket? The location error might be significant if the two are a million miles apart, but if it's a splitting of hairs over a close proximity dividing line, it might be a different matter - probably more significant to council tickets than to private ones.

If it's a private ticket, better you get on with following advice in the NEWBIES sticky than pondering over issues which are rather minor in the grand scheme of things. It's an appeal point to raise, but it's no showstopper.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Yes, it's a private charge.

Many thanks, I thought that would be the case and am pressing on with the "newbies process" but thought it would be worth a crack.
