used car with more than 100k miles?

Never bought a car older than 7 years old with less than 100k miles on, other than my first 3 cars (all £100 Micras). It's people's mileage snobbery that leaves these great cars available for me and other likeminded folk...0

If you've got any mechanical knowledge or have family member/mate who does then auctions are awesome places to pick up bargains.
I've picked up a few for under 1k; some with mot & tax, some with one or the other and some with neither.
Just Google car auctions in (your local area).0 -
My current car bought with over 120,000 miles in 2009. It was 5 years old and i paid just over £2000 for it.
Its not got over 170,000 miles and cost just over £1000 in repairs and servicing. inc tyres, exhaust and brakes etc.
When i buy i make sure the service history is spot on. Serviced well before the max limits. I always say the service schedule is the max not a target.
Check the tyres, Are they a decent brand? Are the filters genuine parts or a good brand?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I didn't pay less than £2k for any of them. I was making a point that just because a car has done over £100k miles is irrelevant, as many people on here can and will testify to.
my biggest success story was a 2004 Civic i bought in 2010 with 110k miles on it, i put 45k miles on it by the end of 2012 and only ever replaced tyres and brakes at a grand total of approx. £250 (my dad is a mechanic so no labour costs for me...)0
