HSBC - Don't expect to be able to get your cash

Options
This is a warning for anyone out there which banks with HSBC. OH tried to withdraw cash using joint account debit card last night and got message 'service not available'. Tried to do the same with my card and same happened.

Rang HSBC they say this cash machine does not pay out between 10pm and 7am. So this is a warning that if you are with HSBC you may not be able to get your money. Convenient for the bank isn't it.

There is a thread on the banking board about the fact that HSBC were doing updates last night and cards /cash machines would be unavailable. Perhaps it was to do with that.

ETA - actually ignore this I got my banks confused. 'Twas actually lloyds/tsb/hbos.

never had a problem between these times, maybe it was a problem with the ATM or an unplanned technical issue.

I couldn't transfer money between my accounts using my app this morning - caused me a bother hunting around for my cash stashes to do my lunches for work shop.

I think it was a scheduled update to Natwest services, but would have been nice to have a warning...
