Afternoon all,
Moorhen - Sending you a (((hug)))
Dandy - Glad all is good
DonnyGal - What a big decision to make.
jlmhd - Double glazed units are really not that expensive. Call a local builder and ask them if they can replace it. When DH first did double glazing we were astonished as to how cheap both the glazed units and the complete window/door assemblies really are. If only we'd known before we paid a company to change our own!
Wet and miserable here today. Getting fed up with looking at the weather and pegging out the washing only to have to get it back in and re spin it!
Been to visit both sets of parents this morning.
We bought a bag of Spinach when we went to Aldi yesterday but it looked a bit wet and nasty so DH made it into some yummy soup, which we had for lunch.
Just being lazy for the rest of the afternoon. Part two of The Village tonight
Happy Sunday all0 -

I am so pleased for you. :j
Went shopping this morning and got more masking tape and paint as well as filler for hairline cracks in wall. DD took me to get a water filter and loads and loads of fruit and veg for the new juicer and DH is guzzling loads of home made juices now.
Youngest is painting the kitchen and it really makes things look much better. Dining room is done and study is being tidied ready to be painted in a few days.
Oldest DD is trying to move her wedding forward by three months
so we can all enjoy the event and hopefully health is still not bad.
New gates and gateposts will not be done till mid September so probably can't put house up for sale till then. Have a viewing next weekend for a bungalow that looks quite good.

Gosh ELONA things are moving at a pace, but if it gives OH peace of mind, and that he knows you won't be struggling, then that can only be for the good.
You have good girls as well by the sound of it, so all looking on the situation as a challenge.
Still sending healing vibes to you all and gentle hugs

Hi Elona, sorry to read of your change in circumstances with DH's health. I guess having a move to think about gives everyone another focus to keep you all busy. Best of luck with your viewing & with getting your home ready to be sold to another loving family.

Thanks Candlelight.
Middle dd is about to buy her first house soon but will not be moving in right away so she can get everything ready there and also be with us for a while longer. Youngest goes back to uni next month but plans to come back home more often if possible.
Going to make a rapid loaf in breadmaker for tomorrow and make a salad for a lunchbox.
Trying to be as positive as possible and hoping some treatment will be possible but odds are against it.
Fingers crossed the chest scan does not complicate things even further.

Wonderful news dandy-candy - am so pleased to hear it x
Hi and welcome to Smoosh :hello:
Lily - I haven't forgotten about the books, will be having a sort out while I am recovering then will get DH to drop them off at the CS x
Hospital have just phoned to say they are cancelling patients for tomorrow but not me as they are not allowed to cancel cancer surgery. I have no idea why they phoned but last time they called me and said I was postponed, then phoned me back to say I wasn't so maybe she started to tell me I was cancelled and then realised!
Thanks so much everyone for the good wishes, I have done this so many times now and I should not be stressed but it just takes me over.

Evening all
Great news DC
Welcome Smoosh
Moorhen, nice to see you, have a hug, hope everything is ok.
Well our plan for a lazy day didn't go to plan, SIL came over & took some stuff to the tip for us.
Hubby broke part of the aquarium pump so we had to drive over to get a new part, then some visitors arrived with some damsons, I made leek & potato soup & now I'm starting off some damson gin, yummy.
It's turned chilly here so we've come in & dinner is nearly ready.
Have a good evening everyone.

Evening all,
jlhmd666. We had a crack in our living room window a few years back. We didn't replace the pane as it was time for new windows anyway but we were told that once the glass started to age, it got brittle and even extremes in temperatures would have been enough to have made it crack. I have to say it scared me half to death as it cracked whilst I was in the living room at the time.... What a noise! As for your friend, well she was hardly a friend was she if she turned her back on you after asking you if she could borrow money.... look at it like this, with an attitude like that, you probably wouldn't have got it back anyway anytime soon (if not at all). You can do better than having friends like that.
Lilyplonk. I nearly played The Green Green Grass of Home to my Mother in the residential home. She played it lots when I was a little girl but thought better of it in case it upset her.... I chose a bit of Englebert Humperdink instead. :rotfl:As a dementia sufferer, I like to play music to her. To bring back memories.... Preferably good ones. I didn't think The Green Green Grass of Home would have been a good choice.
DG. What plans you have! I hope you get a good valuation on your properties and a quick sale..... all very exciting I must say.
Mrsmortenharket. So pleased to hear DS2 has calmed down now. Many hugs.
Hester how is the MIL?
TTFTM. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Smoosh a big hi and welcome. You and I have something in common. I too suffer with bladder and kidney infections. They wipe me out so I certainly understand what you are going through.
SailorSam did you get to the bottom of the smell in your kitchen?
Dandy So pleased to hear your news. Such a relief for you, as it was when my husband found the cyst on his kidney has gone.
Moorhen, good to see you back. Hope what is bothering you is sorted tomorrow. (((Hugs)))
Elona, still don't know what to say but I'm amazed as to how strong you all are. Much love to you all.

Thank you. I read about the temperature changes today and as the windows and doors were closed all week, making it hot in the house, coupled with the weather we've had, it sounds logical.
With regards the friend, I would try and sort things, OH has said we shouldn't but I just want to keep peace. I have realised that she wasn't the friend I thought she was but then I'm making excuses for her - stress, etc. I don't know2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000
