I have checked my credit file since Sat and nothing is showing up. Apparently the court date was April.

I have just called the courts and apparently as its magistrates you cant get one. They said the case will close once signed and then the DVLA can then decide to reopen it and at least I can then defend for myself with all my insurance details.
  • Sorry but I cannot comprehend what insurance has got to do with the DVLA and why the court is saying that you need to contact the DVLA to re-open the case. DVLA DO NOT ISSUE FINES FOR NO INSURANCE.

So I suspect you have been caught by a police speed trap. you were convicted in your absence as the courts had no fixed address in which to contact you as previous attempts to contact had failed.
the DVLA then revoked your license for points to be applied!.

insurance issues are always dealt with by the side of the road by the police.

DVLA may deal with the offence where a vehicle does not comply with the insurance requirement - s.144A, Road Traffic Act 1988.

You are not quite right here. (So your SHOUTING is even more unneccessary)

Were it a speeding issue then there would be implications for the OP's driving licence being revoked etc as it won't have had the points added.

But you are wrong regarding DVLA prosecuting for no insurance.

No, it is failing to comply with the continuous insurance requirement.

Are you, or have you been, the registered keeper of any other vehicle this matter may apply to?
