Collectica notice of enforcement (no insurance)

No .
You should have disputed the debt with the debt collector, not simply paid them!0 -
Why not, the car has been insured where I have been living and the car has been kept?0

The debt collectors where horrible and said if I had not paid the fee would go up loads, I was scared and didnt know what to do so I paid on my credit card. They wouldn't even tell me what the fine was for. Will I get off the points?0

you don't get fined by the DVLA for no insurance. thats a police issue, so were you ever stopped had your vehicle impounded? or given a hort 1 producer to produce you documents to you local station and failed to do so and upon checking at that time you showed as not insured.
Or were you issued a fine by the DVLA for not declaring SORN untaxed? and the fines and court fees escalated into this amount?0 -
Are you sure it is not VED?0

Thank you for your reply.
The fines were for court fees and a fine for no insurance and then collecticas fees as well. Never been pulled up always had tax and insurance. Presume I was zapped driving. I spoke to the DVLA yesterday and they said to write to their enforcement department to appeal so I sent a copy Should I speak to the police instead?0 -

Thank you for the replies.
I paid because I was scared this would affect my credit rating and spent all weekend in bits.
Turns out I had been charged for no insurance in October 2013 however I had a policy run from June 2013 to May 2014 paid in full at the start of the policy, fully taxed too. Correspondence had gone to a previous address. I moved out of this address, lost my log book and sent a chq and new log book form to the dvla and when I moved again in January I found my old book, rang DVLA who said they hadn't had the form ( I had completely forgot) and I sent the old one off and my address was changed in March. I don't know why the new address hadn't been picked up. Anyway I called DVLA yesterday and they said Id been prosectued and the case was closed (due to payment through the bayliffs). I dont now know what to do. Is it a police matter? I have sent the dvla enforcements copy of my insurance for last year with letters confirming my address changes.
Still worried about a CCJ.0
