  • In the spirit of languages… but not German

I was watching an American film today with OH.

When he said, god I wished the Americans did not use English as their language

(I have to admit there are times when I think they don't!)

    :D:D:D:D

As George Bernard Shaw said "two peoples separated by a common language". A good example being DO NOT ask an American to knock you up in the morning :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh yes my sister has returned from holiday an hour ago & the phone calls have started .....

First call - where is Jax's tent?

Second call - Do I have a bum bag for Jax to take to Reading Festival?

Third call - can Jax have my shopping trolley for Reading?

Fourth call - Can Jax have my water proof poncho?

Jax leaves on Tuesday & is 18 yrs old. Surely they could of sorted this all out weeks ago?

I know none of the items will come back clean/undamaged/looked after

So so so want to say NO!

    but I can't :(:o

  • The T&C's in Mr T's for accepting other stores coupons do state that coupons must have barcodes. Also M&S are not accepted.

I used my APG in Mr T today and the poor lad on the till looked really stressed and said he had been having a hard day. I asked why and he said a customer had kicked off about not being able to use a coupon. I know some staff in Mr T can be really rude, but I really felt sorry for this lad. I bet he doesn't get paid that much and he seemed genuinely upset.
I used to work in a shop on the tills and it's funny how one hurtfull comment can stay with you all day, even though the majority of people are lovely.

I hope it wasn't me, I've worked in Customer Service roles for years and I know just how that feels. Just to set things straight, as I said the SA was very polite, he called Supervisor to check, Supervisor said not accepted and I said fine, she then came back with a list of exceptions even though we had accepted decision and then queried use of Morries conditional spends.

No no no - this is double counting, naughty step :D

You can only count what goes out of your account in real money so on this £10 shop its £2 in real cash leaving the bank account :D

The £7.50 comes off the next shop

Never thought i'd say this but i agree with SSM

I don't understand your reply because your next post says you regard apgs as cash.

If she went in with £2 cash and £8 apg and came away with a £7.50 apg the shop cost £2.50

Double counting would be to say "i paid £2 cash and £8 apg and got a £7.50 apg back so i made a profit of £5.50"

    :)

The friend I recently on holiday with - I paid for all the petrol which I insisted on as she was good enough to take us as I don't drive :)

Unfortunately when we went anywhere her purse was always in the car boot...

    I paid for everything :)

When we returned she said she was surprised on how little her holiday had cost  & was able to buy a new carpet for her stairs with her holiday cash :rotfl::rotfl:

So nice to see things going well. What a bunch if planks not accepting freebies.
My mum worked same pub for nearly 30 years and used to get loadsa freebies from breweries etc. She used to raffle some it off for charity. These folk don't have vision. She paid for three guide dogs in her time amongst other things.

I love the fact that you have kept going though and now got the job you wanted.

    And 3010 you are a genius :T

    A promotion at last. :D

Personally I think the wrong pubs were targeted. They were very much the regular drinkers of the same stuff day in day out. Could tell though that they never saw strangers in these pubs. It all fell silent in some as I started my speech and I could see and feel the eyes looking. (Not all of the pubs of course) :rotfl:

If you can't say no then just say if the items do not come back clean and undamaged you want them replaced. That could well put them off.

One of the hardest words in the English language is no sometimes, it's one that people as kindhearted as you have to practice. :D

Also make sure you are signed up to all of the cashback places - eg Topcashback, quidco clicksnap, COS and Shopotize and mysupermarket.
Quidco had some free items last week or nearly frees, Shopotize Also and you only need to earn £5 to be able to draw down.
COS has new offers starting tomorrow. But you need to earn £20 before you withdraw -

.....without incurring a fee ;). You can withdraw less if you want
