I found a Labrador type dog in a town in Turkey and gave it some water, but some guy from a restaurant came and took my plastic cup from me and chased the dog off.
Well done for trying x"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

No, it was not. I wish it was though. The pubs are much nicer. If you take the U out of our town and and replace the P with a B you have it.
Thank you.
I think I need to ease of the pizza. :rotfl: My waist line is expanding.0 -
I did it up to GCSE German. They put their verbs at the end of sentences.
'Hilfe! Schnell! Ein krakenwagen!'
'Gestern abend, ich habe meine hausaufgaben gemacht'
:rotfl:
I recall something like "ein Nilpferd hat mein Sohn aufgegessen." What use is that ever going to be in real life!0 -
With all this talk of Germans, the badminton club that my OH is chairman of is entertaining 13 Germans next week. Chances are we won't have to speak German because they all speak very good English.
The funniest German Phrase I can think of is when JFK announced "ich bin ein Berliner", otherwise known as I am a doughnut! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I only do full washes too:D these people that put 1 or 2 items in makes me:mad:
People wash 1 or 2 items of clothing?!
Granted there may be that special dress that you need to put on a hand wash setting or that woollen item but what's wrong with a dab of washing powder and sink full of water?!

In the spirit of languages… but not German
I was watching an American film today with OH.
When he said, god I wished the Americans did not use English as their language
(I have to admit there are times when I think they don't!):D:D:D

Good evening,
Just a few replies to the old thread. I'll explain where I have been at the bottom.

"Congratulations.
If you will have to live away from home then the cheapest option would be to find somewhere to live outside of london but on your Route. Sure you will get free trains to and from work and so probably be alot cheaper to live out and travel in daily. Especially if you take into account the tube cost nowadays. Milton Keynes I am sure is on a Virgin route and although commuter heavy will be cheaper. Especially if you could get a shared house type lodging.
V x"
I am currently looking at Milton Keynes, which looks like a viable option. Although VT does stop there the services do not for the early shifts, so I'd have to get the LM trains and buy a season tickets for around £1,000. However, I'm going to keep looking there will be a little gem somewhere, but it is just a case of finding it.

"What you might need is a room in a shared house which you can live in during the working week - sign up with websites like right moves. Also I think its roomshare - put your postcode in and see what is in your required area - might find someone needing a lodger but just weekdays.
If you are commuting into London then some employers give you an interest free loan to pay for your season ticket and you pay for it out of your salary every month. Eldest child went for a full annual season ticket from work to home 45 mins outside of London - this covers her also for tube trips as well in zone 1, 2 etc and also a 1/3 train tickets for her BF.
Which London station are you based at?"
Euston, I have just signed up for the websites you gave me. Thank you. VT does give loans for the ST, which would hopefully mean I could commute in. At the moment though I have found a hotel close to Euston, which I am leaning towards for the first couple of week while I settle in to the working pattern, but once settled I am hoping to move out.
"If its John lewis in Oxford Street you are thinking about have a look at the MSe thread on the freebies section. People on there have been saying the coffee and cake are not free - you have to have a receipt"
Thanks I'll take a look.

2[STRIKE]1[/STRIKE] 3 !! The man is a flamin genius at finding stuff :rotfl: "
I'm not that good. :rotfl:
Anyway I have been really busy for the last couple of week delivering a campaign for a soft drinks company, so have not had much chance to catch up or report in.The work involved me going around 150 pubs in a postcode area.
To be honest it was a eye opener.
Basically in the kits there was 24 glasses, POS (posters, leaflets) material plus some other bits. All the stuff I gave away was free. Anyway it went quiet well and I managed to merchandise a large number of pubs.
However, the abuse I got from both bar staff and customers trying to give the stuff away for free. One customer in a pub I very lightly brushed pasted him with the heavy box that I was carrying and I got a torrent of abuse about it being assault and stuff. They then swore at me and walked off. Some of the landlords did not want the kits and yet again I was told to go away (in the way that ended in off). Then had to try and ask for comments why they did not want it and a signature.
All that just to give them free stuff. At least I don't have to do it again. None of you would have refused the freebies. :rotfl:
So nice to see things going well. What a bunch if planks not accepting freebies.
My mum worked same pub for nearly 30 years and used to get loadsa freebies from breweries etc. She used to raffle some it off for charity. These folk don't have vision. She paid for three guide dogs in her time amongst other things.
I love the fact that you have kept going though and now got the job you wanted.
And 3010 you are a genius :T0 -
Free tomorrow.
500g pack though.
Oh I'd forgotten about that :T
Morries shall be on the cards tomorrow then ...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
