you have been really busy am very impressed:j and well done on the greenhouse,

It's been a mad couple of days, but looking at the weather forecast for this week, I might only be able to get up there one day this week :(

Thanks fairclaire for the tips. I've screen shotted the ideas!!!!

Can't wait to get into it. Organic veg is astronomical.

I've given up a fair bit of the garden to raised beds now too.

Still got entertaining areas but the chooks n veggies have claimed a huge portion ;)

    I'm semi-organic :o

Gosh that's so awful. I hope her family and friends stick by her and keep an eye on her.

Having worked in the Domestic Violence Unit I know how "mentally scarred" some women (or even men) end
up. They think their life is incomplete without the perpetrator and end up going back to them repeatedly even though the physical and mental harm gets worse. Your neighbour will need a lot of support. Hopefully she has a close knit circle of friends and family that will assist her.

Other than charging the perpetrator, the Police won't be much help. They might give you some telephone numbers. Please please please contact the Domestic Violence Team / Unit at your local Council, or even an organisation like Women's Aid or Women's Space (try googling that for your area). They will be able to help her out, support her via a Sanctuary scheme (they put more locks on doors and windows / place a panic alarm in her house in case the perpetrator returns), and even send an IDVA (independent domestic violence advocate) who will go to sentencing and court cases with her (if it goes as far as that).

I can understand (well not understand but you know what I mean) why he beat her up if it was his birthday. It's said that alcohol is the biggest cause of domestic violence. That and when the national football team lose a game, the wife/partner/girlfriend normally gets a good beating because of it.

Good luck to her and lots of hugs to you. :A:A:A

    ♥ Thank you Mimi

It's been going on a while, but she has always made excuses for him.
The big blow up last year - the Police were called (by her Dad) against her wishes but we were involved, by sheltering her from him. He was sentenced but he gradually crept back, we would spot him lurking up by the shop, hear him in the house at late at night etc
Anger management course was done & he was 'cured' ........
so back into the fold - but recently we've heard the shouting, chasing her around house ....
I informed her Step Mum & promised I would call Police if anything happened.
Luckily she rang the Police herself & then her family who are nearby & will support her.
I have copied you post & will show her if necessary - Thank You ♥

All quiet next door but I've a feeling he will sneak back, one night :(
She has to say NO !!!!!

I have a large box of Dairy Box to take round :D

I put it in jars; there's no room in the freezer, so for long-term storage, putting it in jars is the best option for me. Not had any problems in the past, I just make sure the jars (usually the mayo/jam kind) are clean and well-sterilised.

    ooh Rhosy,

    Jelly is saying your dirty!!

Good idea, I am going to re instate my daily spends chart so I've got a more accurate idea of what we are actually spending day to day on groceries etc and so far we have no social events or midweek magical mystery tours planned for September.

It's been a bad few months - car insurance for 4 cars, final payment for holiday, nearly £2 thousand to the builder for the work on the front bedroom and the new fence ...[/QUO

I am sure that you front bedroom is now lovely and a holiday is always something to look forward to Enjoy

Was it you who put the fence but because of your neighbour?

DH does fencing and his customers always appreciate a bit of privacy.
