I've got some Mary Berry Christmas Chutney in the slow cooker tonight:)
Whisper it quietly but I'm getting a bit fed up of the prep work to convert the Morribobs f&v into long-term storage.

The chutney is all jarred up now; not one of your best recipes, Mary, if I may be so bold:)

The slow cooker is now full of three pepper pasta sauce ... that's the last of the peppers dealt with, now, thankfully.

I've just about used everything up too jelly. Think there's a few oranges and apples left and that's it....oh yes some sweet pots too.

Dare we hope it will come around again?

Thanks fairclaire for the tips. I've screen shotted the ideas!!!!

Can't wait to get into it. Organic veg is astronomical.

I've given up a fair bit of the garden to raised beds now too.

Still got entertaining areas but the chooks n veggies have claimed a huge portion ;)

Don't forget your free chicken poop fertiliser. I put what I clean out of the coop on the raised beds in the autumn/winter to feed the soil.

I put it in jars; there's no room in the freezer, so for long-term storage, putting it in jars is the best option for me. Not had any problems in the past, I just make sure the jars (usually the mayo/jam kind) are clean and well-sterilised.
