Huge hugs to Strewth, Tinyshoes and Snap's neighbour.

Looking for some culinary inspiration please. We had roast chicken for lunch today and usually have it cold with chips or fried potatoes and salad the next day, but I fancy doing something different with it tomorrow. Trouble is, I have no idea what! Any ideas please?

Chicken pie. Leftover chicken with a tin of mushroom soup and a batch of shortcrust pastry is the most foolproof way ;)

    Or rustle up a curry?

Or make coronation chicken to have with a salad or baked potatoes?

Gosh that's so awful. I hope her family and friends stick by her and keep an eye on her.

Having worked in the Domest Violence Unit I know how "mentally scarred" some women (or even men) end
up. They think their life is incomplete without the perpetrator and end up going back to them repeatedly even though the physical and mental harm gets worse. Your neighbour will need a lot of support. Hopefully she has a close knit circle of friends and family that will assist her.

Other than charging the perpetrator, the Police won't be much help. They might give you some telephone numbers. Please please please contact the Domestic Violence Team / Unit at your local Council, or even an organisation like Women's Aid or Women's Space (try googling that for your area). They will be able to help her out, support her via a Sanctuary scheme (they put more locks on doors and windows / place a panic alarm in her house in case the perpetrator returns), and even send an IDVA (independent domestic violence advocate) who will go to sentencings and court cases with her (if it goes as far as that).

I can understand (well not understand but you know what I mean) why he beat her up if it was his birthday. It's said that alcohol is the biggest cause of domestic violence. That and when the national football team lose a game, the wife/partner/girlfriend normally gets a good beating because of it.

Good luck to her and lots of hugs to you. :A:A:A
Our local police automatically refer to council Domestic Violence team.

Did we all get some of the 24p rice from lidl.......i was lost without the internet...it was like the old days ....actually visiting stores to find out the deals and prices:rotfl:

Went to the library for the first time in ages.....read 2 books since yesterday. Now working my may through Lucy Lethbridge's Servants.....a downstairs view of 20th century Britain......great book:T

Reading is so lovely, without Internet when we are away I can get through a book every 2 days.
Mind you its not just the internet that distracts me - everything does, cats that need feeding every 2 hours, a garden that gets overgrown if I don't spend every spare minute tackling the weeds ...

Yes I got the lidl rice for 24p and the stir fry sauce - first time I've properly went to lidl as its off our normal booked route but I will take more notice of the weekend offers now

    Good evening :)

Managed to get to As, forgot my lists ......remembered everything on the lists anyway :D

Did my good deed for the day. Spotted a lost looking elderly gent standing by his car in As car park with the bonnet up and holding a set of jump leads, bless him. I won't tell you how many people just drove past him
My battery is next to the drivers seat, so didn't even need to get out of the car :D 2 minutes later, car started and he was on his way :T:T

Such a kind thing to do - a few times I've been stranded and had to rely on the kindness of strangers

I've just had a "womble fail". Not enough items. But, it seemed they had bought well enough - and can I just check that these are on msm as they are each part of mbuys:

    Lighter Cheese 505244995025
Toothpaste 541007683450 (£3.49 each and 2 for £4;). Fingers crossed!)

I think it might be the "Walkers Duaf" though - they bought three (different ones) of those but I think none of them on msm.

    TIA.:)
