Thanks for this, yes when I've thought about it your right, apart from the oil isn't included in the offer in morrisons xWe're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits.0 -
Oh, sorry to hear this
We were turned down for no apparent reason in May last year, but then we were accepted in July, so things can change pretty quickly!
If you don't mind me asking, are you using the overdraft/CC that you mentioned, or is the balance constantly zero? Hubby and I were told not to use any credit whilst our application was going through, and then there was a clause on our offer to say that if they found we had used some of the credit we had available to us in the time between the mortgage offer and completion, the mortgage offer could be withdrawn. It made paying for a wedding the month before a bit of a tight one, I can tell you!
I'm constantly using my overdraftand the credit card that showed up is usually at zero (I haven't paid interest on it in years) as I pay it off before the bill is due.
The broker did say something about mortgage terms having things written in them about clearing all our debts (which we plan to with our equity when we sell).
I may have to look into removing my overdraft completely if that's causing complications and we can stop using the card, DH only uses it for fuel and shopping when he doesn't know which account has the money in.
Thanx for your advice
I've now got to go back to fidgeting while I wait for the broker to ring me back again later onHistoric Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Good afternoon everyone
I have a question for the potato growers , I have some growing in large pots , do I dig them out when all the leaves have gone yellow or is there a set time around 90 days , when do they stop growing
I had a peek as could not wait to see what was happening about three weeks ago and they were small new potato size but with Morris f&v I already had some so decided to leave them in. Thankyou .
Generally they say leave them until the leaves have yellowed and died back, but it wont hurt to have another dig around and see what lurks beneathI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. As far as I am aware there are only a few Tesco's that are participating in accepting APG's. I know there are quite a few in Bristol from memory maybe some in Slough - hopefully someone will have the info and post soon. Not nationwide yet! Yes, that sounds like a plan. I think what made the difference for us was us stopping using any overdraft/CC, and mortgage lenders seem to have really tightened up how thoroughly they check you these days. I think the problem can be due to you having too much credit available, even if you're not actually using it all or paying any interest on it. Funnily enough though, after all that hassle and scrutiny, no-one seemed to care that our deposit was partly funded by DH's loan, which he took out the year before for a car, and then sold the car and put the cash into our savings whilst still paying off the loan. We only applied on the off-chance it might work, we never actually expected it to go through!
Good luck with the second lender! Are you sure those are the only 2 options? I'm assuming the mortgage broker will have checked, but just make sure the broker is independent and they're not offering you those 2 for a reason, ie perhaps they get a percentage for the referral?0 -
