I'd probably let that one go.
As you were spotted when you were putting the money in then I'm guessing the transaction wasn't fully completed?
Either way, for a few quid, I don't think it would be worthwhile to raise your profile there. The SSS and CS assistant are likely to forget about the whole situation; an email to Tosco HQ would filter down to the store and would remind the staff members.
Also, by writing to Tosco, it'll mean that the store is less likely to have 1p items in the future. e.g. manager training staff members to be more alert, SELs changed properly etc.ELITE 5:2

As far as I'm concerned, if you've paid for them, they're yours.
So the fact that they then forced you to give them back is terrible. I think anything before you've paid you just have to suck up and accept. But you are surely within your rights to keep items you've paid for, whatever the price?
If I were you I'd write a polite email to head office/customer services but I'm sure there are plenty who wouldn't for the sake of keeping their profiles low. I'm gobby so I wouldn't care as much
I'm with you on this one - but then I'm a gobby madam as well !ELITE 5:2

Well, after my early morning post I managed to get back to sleep til 10am, so that was a result! Fortunately I have 2 teenagers who are in no hurry to get up in the morning, so we've all been very lazy these holidays! :rotfl:
Items returned to Tesco, New Look and Asda. Ds got a haircut, should think they could make a rug from what they cut off!
Nothing else much going on here. DS has decided he wants a teenage mutant ninja turtle knitted hat as they "look cool" (he is 16!!). However, all the ones he found on ebay/amazon only go up to head circumfirence of 58cm, and we measured his at 60cm. Been calling him fat head all day, he is most put out that he can't find one to fit!0 -
Yes probably you are right, some battles are just not worth fighting.
Yes the transaction was complete and I had put the coins in and I had a receipt and I did say this to the SSS but she said I'd done it whilst she was talking to me. No I didn't stop as I was in mid flow.
This is not a very big store so I think the management are very on the ball anyway, only once before got 1p things from there. Its not got wall scanners or hand scanners so there is never a way of knowing beforehand.
I have had unpleasant dealings with this particular SSS before (your SSS you cant choose unlike your till person) as she also worked on tills - this was a store that was taken over by T when a chain ceased to trade in the UK and converted about 15 years ago now and they also took over the staff, most of who are still on the tills -must be nearly 70 or over now but you don't have to retire now at the official age of retirement.
In the good old MOC days she was a till to avoid.
Even worse - you had a receipt and the items were legally yours. What they did was totally out of order and they need sorting out !ELITE 5:2

Poor laddie ! Nice to see you around again. Glad you had a nice day x0 -
There are some very nice transatlantic cruises on Cunard ships - either sail there and fly back or via serversa and some good late deals.
The one I liked the look of consisted of sail to NY, train trip to see Niagara Falls with 2 nights in hotel, back to NY 2 nights in hotel in New York and then flight back to the UK :T
That sounds lovely!
I've never been on a cruise but I have been to NY which is AMAZING!0 -
Princess Melody is having a tough time of late, hopefully she will find her way back to us soon x0

Hmmmm...you had the receipt?
From your OP I thought you were stopped midway through putting the coins in; thus, the transaction not being completed.
If the transaction was complete then they shouldn't have interfered. Re: emailing HQ....guess it depends on whether it's a frequent store you visit or want some DTD goldies in the future....only you can decide.
Yes I've got a receipt so yes technically T are on dodgy legal grounds.
No its not a store I visit that much, its small and stock levels are poor and the staff are mixed (mainly visit when I have conditional spends, mailing MOCs and points and till spits - not had these for over a month now)
Not a store for finding DTD items either - I've only managed this once ever
So yes its far easier to go to our Asda which is bigger to do a Asda v !!!!!! shop - more fun in asda and worth looking 15 or 20 CC points.
I tend to just wander through to check what is in the reduced fridges mainly“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
