Hi Cookie - yes we had a fab day out - the weather was amazing and we even had lunch sitting outside at a sea front restaurant. And yes the dog was very over excited to be at the beach!

Another week over - no news work wise.

Expensive weekend - trip to C0st0 Friday night, haircut yesterday, then a trip to the cinema.

Today I bought DS new school shoes - £50 :eek::eek::eek:

Also had to do a top up shop in town - DH was due to be away all week but now isn't so will be joining me on another soup week so needed to stock up.

Tardy buyer finally paid for the jacket he bought 2 weeks ago so I posted that and I feel I am finally back in the swing of ebay which is a good thing :T

Hey Pushkin, once again i'm catching up on diaries, my postings of late have been quite sporadic :o but just wanted to say so sorry to hear about your work situation!

At least you have a time frame to work to now, and time to put a plan in place.

Wishing you the best and hoping that the bosses new plan fails miserably! ;)

Glad the ebay buyer finally got their finger out!

I dread the days of £50 school shoes! Just bought DD a pair half price for £8 but to be fair at the rate she grows they won't last that long.

Good luck with your soup week. I well and truly fell off the healthy eating wagon this week with pizza, chips, ice cream, apple crumble, chocolate etc so hopefully I can climb back on this week! I've upped my step target from 8000 to 10000 so I need the weather to be good for me. :)

@ Shalamoo - thanks for your kind words - I think I've reached the tipping point with the company now - need to get out and face the reality of it all.

@ QB Wolf - yes indeed the price of DS's shoes were a shock - we have scotchguarded them to death so I really hope they stay in good condition for a while!

@ Amycool - I did look at the sale rail for DS but there weren't any there in his size! With regards soup week - yes I had a picky piggy day yesterday but back on it today - honestly I think the thought of having to go to job interviews (havent' done that for 20 yrs!) is motivating me big time!

Today I got my redundancy offer (gulp). I now have 6 working days to either accept or reject it.

There is no point doing anything other than taking it although I am a little frustrated by the lack of any name or contact number if I have questions - its boilerplate text and from a generic mailbox. I am mainly worried about my pension and what to do with regards that so am thinking of seeing a financial advisor about it.

The total figure is actually slightly more than I calculated (only by a few hundred) and would certainly provide a buffer while I decide what to do next and obtain more meaningful employment!

Determined not to work for an American company next :D

I now have butterflies in my tummy - the offer gives me a last working day of 17 February so after all the waiting it is going to happen really quickly. Have many many mixed feelings.

    Sorry for waffling on.

Told my manager about the redundancy offer yesterday - he is in America so can't directly manage it but I was astonished to learn UK HR haven't consulted him at all.

Anyway accepted the offer formally by email with my scanned in signature - last working day is Friday 16 February - gulp!

Applied for a 6 month contract as well but having spoken to the agency I don't have the full skillset they require - still proud of myself for doing it.

Need to cancel the regular over payment of the mortgage - that makes me sad but needs must. :(:(:(:(

DH has also agreed to take £200 less per month for his personal money.

I intend to take a month or so off before I look seriously for work. Now starting on a list of things I want to do during that time - they arent' exciting but I'm sure they'll be posted here :rotfl:

Scary, but a relief after the uncertainty! Look forward to reading your list :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
