This week has actually really flown by and (even better) I'd actually forgotten that it's pay day on Monday :j

    Busy weekend coming up -
DS needs to put a lot of work into his history project
Want to go and see The Revenant tomorrow
    Lunch at parents Sunday
Need to by DS some shoes

Really good day yesterday, in our effort to be more active we dropped DS off at his drama club and drove to a nearby NT property where we took the dog for a long walk. There was a cafe there where you could take dogs (complete with water bowls and complimentary dog biscuits :D) while we had coffee.

Went to the cinema in the evening, got to the centre before 7 with the aim of going for dinner first - tried 6 restaurants and all had minimum 30 minute wait so we ended up at St@rbucks with a sandwich. Absolutely amazed how busy it was particularly so early.

So spends were good - 2 coffees in the morning £4
Cinema tickets I bought months ago (have a scheme at work where I can get cheap tickets for Vu£ and when I thought I was leaving my job I stock piled them!) so feel like they were free.
    £15 in St@rbucks for 3 coffees and 2 sandwiches
£23 in cinema - 3 cokes, 2 bags pick & mix and a popcorn - I know it's overpriced and really unhealthy but twas compensation for not getting a proper dinner!:rotfl:

Pay day today, transferred £250 to slush fund, will see how this month goes, thanks to the flash coffee machine I have a huge cc bill again - it's a bit of a vicious circle.

DH's birthday at end Feb and DS mid March so lots of financial juggling coming up I think - I quite enjoy it really and actually get quite bored in Monopoly when I am winning - weirdo huh.

Hi Amycool - glad its not just me - statement has still not arrived! Will make DH ring to chase next week (for complex reasons mortgage is in his name only so I can't ring myself).

Early start today as I gave my parents a lift to Heathrow and had to pick them up at 7 - they are off on holiday for a month (jealous not!)

Trip to C0stc0 with DH - total was £250 which is actually quite low for us  am tracking food spending more closely this year (well trying - so far so good, although it is still January!).

Theatre tonight and we will try and have dinner before hand - hopefully there will be space somewhere, unlike last week!

Granny nap definitely on the cards having got up at 6 and slept badly as I was so scared of oversleeping!

Hope you got your nap Pushkin. How frustrating that the mortgage statement hasn't arrived. Hope it comes soon!

Hey Bookworm- thanks for asking and yes I did get my nap! I also slept until 9.30 today which almost never happens - think I needed to catch up after the working week.

Last night was more expensive than I thought - we went to a burger restaurant before the theatre - turns out everything is priced separately - burger, chips, coleslaw etc. Price for the 3 of us was nearly £60 which is a lot for 3 portions of burgers and some sides.

Then we treated ourselves to ice cream in the interval at the theatre and DH had no money so I had to pay - he is like royalty and doesn't seem to carry cash

Today, mammoth lie in - long dog walk with my podcasts and then a day of house work :( Am done with it now but starting to think about the idea of a cleaner. I just find it so hard to keep on top of it all. I did the bathroom today and am ashamed to admit that was the first clean it had since before Christmas. Will think about it but even someone every fortnight would help and stop rooms getting into the kind of state they currently do. Then I think thats money we should be saving and I shouldn't be so lazy. I feel like I have a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other :rotfl:

Car breakdown cover is up for renewal so off to find a cheaper quote than current provider and play the usual game of asking them to match it....

Have half updated my financials as its the first. However DH has neglected to transfer his usual £ amount over to me so I am actually overdrawn! Fortunately I have a £500 free overdraft limit but suffice to say I will be having 'mentioning' this oversight to him shortly.

Further update later - hopefully mortgage statement will also arrive today! :p
