Amazing that I woke up with a sense of dread in the pit of my stomach - its Sunday morning and I'm dreading Monday already - and I only have 2 days to work this week - very strong indicators about possibly getting out of this company.

That said I'm not a very decisive person and am very risk averse the thought of leaving makes me nervous as well. Shame we didn't win the lottery this weekend - mind you I don't buy a ticket so for me to won would be quite a feat!

Hi Pushkin, just catching up as I haven't been on the diaries for a while.

Hope you're enjoying your holiday and I hope that the correct decision gets made for you/by you when you return to work.

I am in the same sort of position with good pay and benefits, don't enjoy my job and there's redundancies in the offing. I couldn't choose VR as i'm too risk adverse but I can't say i'd be sorry if I got CR, scared  yes, but not sorry!

Glad pooch is ok as well x

Back from France about half a stone heavier but infinitely more relaxed despite the worst efforts of the motorway traffic on the home journey and the ultimate 4 hour delay it caused

Spending was ok in that didn't put anything on credit card and managed to bring home just under Euros 200. Currently on load 3 of the laundry mountain and not impressed by the heavy rain outside.

No firm decisions regarding work but hopefully a bit more perspective on things although we'll see how long that lasts when I get back.

Got this week off work so still feeling quite chilled and have time to catch up on some domestic jobs.

1st month updates are as per normal.

    £500 regular OP on mortgage
Other savings all as per regular monthly amounts

Money making account up £52 this month :j. I've also put the 1ph0ne on 3b@y and have never known so much interest in an item. Have already had 2 offers for it despite it being on auction. Will hold out until Sunday and hope this maximises chances.

Thanks Amy - can you believe still haven't got all the washing dry - too wet & cold to hang outside but as the heating isn't on they are taking days....

Will update on price reached for 1ph0ne Sunday - fingers crossed - I was tempted by one offer bird in the hand and all that. However hopefully the auction system will maximise my chances.

Just met mum for a wander round the shops - one round of coffees paid for and I bought a posh pack a mac thing in an outdoor shop - bit of an impulse buy but 90% of my time in the rain is while walking the dog and I did recently discover current anorak is no longer waterproof. So don't feel too guilty as I'll get a lot of wear out of it.

It looked very grey today but I risked the washing outside and it's almost dry. Doing laundry during the winter months is the bane of my life and there are only 2 of us!! We do have a tumble drier but it costs a fortune to run so I do the whole moving everything around on the radiators thing, then you have to make sure the windows are open or you have the dehumidifier on so I wonder if the drier would be cheaper anyway!

I invested in a really good waterproof jacket with a good hood last year. I learnt the hard way (on the wettest walk of my life) that my old thin waterproof was not in fact waterproof. Mine was 50% off, but still way more than I would normally spend. It doesn't look very cool but I've worn it loads and kept snug and dry!

I can report that all holiday washing is finally dry - must though confess it was pushed along by the fact that the radiators were switched on  I know many on here will be appalled by this but DH and I were both sat moaning about being chilly last night and just thought oh why not. I can also report that it was bliss having non damp towels for post shower drying today.

Last day of annual leave today, went for lunch with mum (she paid) and bought some more plants -£1.99 each in the sale (x2) and 2 Christmas presents :j

Meeting an old friend for lunch tomorrow, trip to C0stc0 as well. Sunday need to go shopping for DS - school trousers, a couple of shirts and some stationery supplies. So not a cheap weekend.

I got the lounge blanket out last week. :D We've just switched the heating on at work, but I don't care so much about their budget!

C0stc0 shop £24 more than I budgeted - always the way - I swear I could budget £1,000 and we'd spend more:cool: Still freezer is groaning and picked up a few toiletry bits so should be some low cost weekly food spends for next month as we'll only need the fresh stuff.

Shopping this morning - £25 on new school trousers for DS - that was for 2 pairs so pretty good value I think. Then had to spend over £20 on stationery for him most of which he should have already had! For example third year running we've had to buy him a scientific calculator - (either lost or broken) - so told him if it happens again he can pay himself.

Have started 5:2 diet today - with a 500 cal day - really need to do something and my parents have had success with this so we'll see. Going ok so far but I did eat a lot yesterday so not as difficult as it will be next time:eek:
