oddest / worst things brought home by your cat

DD's cat obviously doesn't approve of the toys she buys him as he comes back with ones stolen from elsewhere - in good, clean condition so obviously a bit of cat burglary going on .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Here's a story from my mum. It involves a young rabbit, so nothing obscure I'm afraid.
One day, Lincoln, a tabby, brought a young rabbit into the conservatory. . Mum wasn't convinced that it was dead (some dead things twitch a bit), so placed an upturned washing basket over it with a brick on top. She planned to leave it for half an hour, and if when she went back and it hadn't moved, shed know it was dead.
Thirty minutes later she went back to the conservatory. The brick was on the floor, the washing basket on its side with Lincoln chewing the rabbit's back leg off."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0 -
Madamme here is quite adept at catching moths and butterflies, which she runs upstairs with and plays, then eats them.
So far though this year, we have had 2 x Live mice, 1 x dead mouse, 1 x dead sparrow, 1 x dead pigeon and a 1/2 dead Whole Seagull which she got trapped in the catflap and couldn't release it ! It was making one hell of a noise. She was not happy when I got rid of it,
She can Sulk like a petulant child ! lol0 -
Mine bring the occasional field mouse/vole/bat home for me.
If I do not investigate their 'pressie meow' immediately I generally only find a tail and what looks like a stomach/intestine/bladder. I never have a close look!0 -
Just yesterday my kitten brought home a mouldy orange juice carton ..
Today .. A stuffed toy mouse , a cooked chicken leg and a polystyrene kebab box .. :whistle:0 -
A cat we used to have brought us a budgie, unfortunately dead, it was very likely someone's pet! We put it in a shoebox outside so we could try to contact the owners and apologise. The next morning OH got into his car, and discovered the windscreen and bonnet was "decorated" with the budgie. There were yellow and green feathers, and entrails were everywhere, and the cleanly picked skeleton was right in the middle of the windscreen. It was eerie!

We normally get elastic bands, but we had our first bird last week - a collared dove. Very ambitious I thought!
OH delights in telling me what his family's cats brought in when he was little.
One used to bring in empty cigarette packets and pages from p0rn magazines.
The other brought home a (dead) brightly coloured bird one day, which they promptly binned. A couple of days later posters started appearing round the local streets about a missing prize macaw with a £400 reward. OH said it didn't specify dead or alive, so he was tempted to get the bird out the bin and return it... :eek:Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
My current cat doesn't catch anything other than the sun's rays. I am pleased to say.....and why would you when you have a slave to provide all.
She's not too bad at crane fly if in a real energetic mood, and likes to watch bees. She did rescue a piece of purple plastic the other day, which is part of a broken peg.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
When Eric the cat was young and agile he brought a live blackbird into in the kitchen, which flapped and pooped all over .....
a live frog, hopping around the living room. Until then I had no idea that frogs squeal - loudly !
I looked after my brother's dogs last week and they brought me a couple of tomatoes - picked from my veggie patch ! I had to explain to my brother why the white dog had orange stains on his beard and why the pug was passing red skins in his poo !0
