Joined Etsy about a month ago. Slow burner as our products are added but already sold around 15 items (13 more than we sold on eBid in 16 months!). As the items are Personalised, was expecting issues like on ebay and Amazon with regards to people sending the info required, but 100% success rate to date.
We pulled out of the eBay market 2 months ago. Big decision but it was getting beyond a joke. So we decided to take a break and push our website and add new outlets. We are Amazon, which is ok and our only issue is not being able to block buyers. We have had 1 customer run us round the block for ages and the Customer Support on that has been poor (everything else though has been good).
Notonthehighstreet (or whatever it is) told us we couldn't sell on their site.0 -

No I haven't . My stock tends to be very eclectic - a lot of it would go to a casual browser and I have no 'hook' to attract casual browsers to a web site. I do not sell in a defined category, but all over the place.
I do intend to get my own site soon, but merely as a place to send repeat buyers to rather than to really hope to attract new buyers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorry to labour this but I really don't understand. Is the 32pence definitely the final value fee - or is it listing fees at 20 cents each? (sorry don't know the sterling equivalent)
According to my figures each of my listings has cost 20cents. Each of my sales has been charged at 3.5%of the value of the sale. Paypal is a separate issue as it is the same whatever platform you use.
I had an Etsy shop for a while a few years ago.
I seem to remember, although I could be wrong, that your fees build up and you have to elect to pay them (like with ebay), before a certain date?*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

Listing fee's payable monthly
Fee's after sales (direct payments) taken out of the sale figure, so you never see it.
Money available after 3 days, they do fortnightly transfer of your sales figures but you can withdraw daily if you want.0
