  • I used to get the Nicky from HBs but found it too thick and the scent put me off. I found some 2ply Nicky as a one off and I was a bit dubious but they were miles better, just the right thickness and no scent but can I get any since? Nooooo!

Currently on Nouvelle from Morrisons but for an own brand I like Shades from Asda

Another vote for Nicky. In my opinion by far the best loo rolls and at a very good price. There is no way I would pay the ridiculous prices of Andrex, Cushelle etc.

A couple of months ago I couldn't get any Nicky loo rolls as Farm Foods had sold out so bought some from Aldi (decent, not cheap). They were awful

  • I didn't think there was such thing as too thick, nobody wants their finger bursting through the paper at a crucial moment :( one thing I refuse to be cheap on is toilet paper.

  • I bought some sainsburys basics when I was short one week, actually pleasantly surprised! the stuff from poundland ect seemed very thin (had a duck on the pack) and sainsburys was cheaper as it was £6 double rolls for £1.90 ish, worth a try anyways
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D
  • I like Asda Shades, no-one seems to mention it though, I think there's only me buying it!

  • My partner has recently started buying them off Groupon. They have deals where you get loads of loo rolls and they're not too expensive. 45 rolls for £12.99 I think! Also, they're quite a good quality, but not the super thick ones that can block drains.

Whatever is cheapest really, though my mum (who does the shopping) has started buying cushelle in Lidl when its on offer as she gets employee discount. When she was a teacher we used to get toilet roll from a place near where she worked, a big bag of at least 30 rolls of toilet paper for £5 but it was thin, however we aren't a fan of thick toilet paper.
Money saved in 2018: £18.78 in jar, £250 added to savings. Total: £268.78
