Where do you buy your toilet rolls?!

Options
Did a quick search but couldn't find anything .... I have gradually been adjusting my shopping habits but have yet to try anything except from my normal Andrex. I have looked in stores like Lidl but worry about buying something of really poor thin quality. Ideas please?

I buy the pretty white ones from M&S that are perfumed and have little aqua coloured seahorses and shells on them....sorry!
Not cheap but such good quality they last longer than the cheap, thin alternatives.

Nicky, you can get them in Farmfoods or Savers.
I get the pack of 18 rolls for £3.95 and they are so thick, 3 ply and have lotion in. When I go round my mums and she has Andrex, I feel that Nicky is a lot thicker than Andrex.
  • I have tried many cheaper brands and always seem to go back to Andrex so my aim is to buy Andrex but at the best price possible.

Sometimes they have a brilliant deal on amazon for 45 rolls for about £20( i use vouchers I have earnt on swagbucks etc.) but hasnt been on lately so I have discovered that my local poundstretcher shop do 18 rolls for £6.50 ish which works out even better value. The same quantity next door in tesco were over £8 and supposedly on offer.

I buy the cheap ones, just not the cheapest. All supermarket own brands are good, it's just the super cheap ones that need to be avoided if you have enough money to be in a position of choice.

If they "look all right", then they'll be fine - you can spot the super-cheap/market quality ones through the packet.

I think even the quality of the super-cheap ones has improved in the last 5+ years.

Am I the only one on the boards to not like Nicky?? The only ones my local Farmfoods sell are perfumed, which I can't do, and when I finally did find some unperfumed (from Poundstretcher, I think) I was quite underwhelmed :( But then again, I'm not keen on Andrex either - although it's quite thick, I find it's a bit of a "shredder" ;)

I like Cushelle, but for vfm my preference is Regina - which I stock up on whenever it's on offer at Wilko (which it is regularly :) )
  • I use velvet, when on offer, I like quilted.

I have never tried this "Nicky" but I have heard a lot about it on these boards, I have about 5 months supply of velvet left, but I like to stock up and be 2 months ahead.

I'm going to try this nicky once and for all, buy a small pack see what all the fuss is.

Went on a bit of a hunt for them yesterday as I stopped off for a middle of the night shop at Asda.

Came way with 24 Cushelle for £7.50. I usually stick to Andrex but for that price I ain't gonna argue.

I thought I would try Nicky as my local Nisa store had some for 2.45 for 16, they are not bad actually, quilted but not stiff like some of them are. When I went back for more, they had sold out, not only me that likes a bargain then!
