Look at it as your chance to check out he is who he said he was.
If you think of it as you who will benefit it may be easier perhaps.0 -
you don't have to speak to him on the phone if you don't want to. maybe he just wants to chat via texts? i met somebody via Internet dating, he asked for my phone number but it was mainly so we could chat more often (I didn't have an iPhone at the time so only used the internet at home on a laptop). we never spoke on the phone but when we met up for the first time we got on so well and never had a gap in conversation. 4 years later, we have a mortgage and a baby
I think you can get a pretty good idea of what somebody's like through messages on a dating site if you talk to them a fair bit.0 -
Hi, well I am new to this forum although I have been lurking on the 'old style money saving' for about 8 years....
Anyway, as I am recently separated and considering registering with a dating site I want to say I am finding these dating site tips very useful!! I know this thread started as something else but please keep the tips coming I might need them! Thanks0 -
It's a guy. He doesn't want to speak on the phone. He wants to text and ask what colour panties you're wearing.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0

Did you watch the Bbc news at 6pm tonight, there were some women that had been scammed by someone they started talking to on a dating site. I think the main one was taken for £140k but there were others as well. They were on the news 'cos they were in Court with the people who'd conned them.
So be careful out there.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

It's okay, if you're not so comfortable talking on the phone then just text him and tell him this. If he has a problem with it then he isn't going to be someone you would want to get to know anyway.
I wouldn't see the problem in explaining it to him. He will most likely understand and decide to take the lead in the conversation.
I was like this a while ago. My social skills were horrible and the thought of talking to women via the phone would make me incredibly nervous, but then i just decided that i had to be the man and take control of the situation/conversation and i am now so much less apprehensive before talking on the phone than I ever have been.
If you can, fight through it and let him take the lead in the conversation. You can always throw in some questions just to show that you're actually interested in what he's saying.
good luck.0
