Not much to contest there. Cogent yet thoughtful take on a complex topic.0 -
BC_Rangers wrote: »No , its probably somebody else altogether speaking from honest experience. I have several friends - including my closest pal of 14 years - who have seen their mothers spent such money on cashmere , makeup , and as mentioned holidays and boozing. It would incredibly frustrating to be the child in those circumstances - so get over yourself.0

How do these ex's know that it is the maintenance that is being spent on the PWCs and not their own money? If on benefits then they don't get much and need every penny to feed themselves and the children, and if NOT on benefits then they obviously work, so sorry to be contraversial, but it is possible that these PWCs earn their own money and can actually spend some of it on themselves. They clearly don't spend all of the money on themselves otherwise they would all be on the streets having not paid the rent/mortgage, bills, food, childcare, birthday gifts, Christmas gifts, school uniforms, other clothes required, ferrying around visiting places and friends. So whilst some PWCs do spend money on themselves a hell of a lot of NRPs do the same thing but REFUSE to spend ANY money on their children.0

How funny!!!!! My ex is currently taking me to court (for the 3rd time in 5 years) trying once again to get out of paying to the children. He stopped paying the child support in January and it has now come to light (since my father has paid for a solicitor) that in January he took out a £20,OOO loan to buy a place in spain..............to match his new house and BMW!!!!!!! explain to me who has got the cushy lifestyle when I am now in debt and my children are going without whilst he is sunning himself in spain. YOU GET OVER YOURSELF!!!!!
There are , though, two sides to every story , as certain people are so fond of saying. I'm sure Mr Estranged would have something different to say.
This is the internet - anything that I or anyone else says on these boards could be complete and utter rot, from your perspective. Its easy to pass comment on any given thread , and put across viewpoints , but it could all be total codswallop at the end of the day.
With that said , I will reserve my divine judgement:p0 -

I responded solely to a comment regarding fathers for justice. I did this as my son's father is a proactive member of this organisation, not because he has any real interest in parental rights, (at least I don't think he has as he has not bothered to contact us in over eight years!) but is involved because apparently they campaign against the CSA!It is not exactly unknown for members of this group to state that fighting for their rights is their lifes work, (and for fathers actually concerned regarding their childrens upbringing and welfare, then I respect their choice.) However I beleive that my ex is not a solitary occurence, and that there are many members comfortably living off state handouts using this as an excuse.Information is not knowledge.
Knowledge is not wisdom.
Wisdom is not truth.
Truth is not beauty.
Beauty is not love.
Love is not music.
Music is the best.0 -
