Unable to use contract mobile in own home due to no signal

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and I apologise if there has been a thread similar to this but I am looking for some advice. I'm currently 12 months in a 24 month contract with EE, everything was working great until I moved back in April to a new flat and I am unable to use my mobile in my own home due to being no signal. I have phoned EE several times about this as I do not get calls/messages until after I leave my flat which is extremely frustrating if I need to make an important phone call outside the privacy of my own home.
EE have been no help whatsoever advising me there are no issues in my area and telling me to restart my phone, etc, but nothing has helped. I then asked to cancel my contract as I am unable to use it in my own home to be told I need to pay the full cancellation fee.
Does anyone know how to handle this situation? I have no issues with EE apart from this which is why it's frustrating as I don't want to particularly cancel the contract but I refuse to keep paying £50 a month for a contract I can't use at a place I spend majority of my time.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Rebecca
Ps. Just to mention anyone else on a different network have no issues when they visit me using their phone, it only seems to be EE/Orange/T-Mobile networks that have the 'no-signal' in my flat.

I doubt there is anything you can do. The fact that you can't get a signal in a place that you chose to move to is nothing to do with the supplier.
Even if you cancel the contract you will still have to pay the monthly cost until the contract ends in 12 months,or the full cancellation fee.0 -
I had a similar problem with '3'.
They offered me a box that connects to broadband. This box gives your mobile phone a signal it can use.
Perhaps EE have a similar offering?0 -
I had the same problem and after numerous moans to anyone who would listen, my friend asked why didn't I get a booster like he had? (also with EE).
Called customer services who advised that they didn't have any boosters in stock, but to visit my local store to get one.
I then visited a store where the sales guy laughed and told me I'd have better luck of finding the Loch Ness monster as 'there's no such thing as a signal booster'.
Called customer services back, then told that there was in fact a booster available, but that they had no stock. Stock was expected in 6 weeks
To cut a long story short:
- I got a discount for the duration that the booster wasn't in stock
- I now have the booster installed and I can make calls at home - result!
Good luck.

I thought I might need to.
It's just frustrating as I moved from a town outside of a city to the city centre and I had checked the coverage with EE to be told it would be fine to use in the area.
I suppose I'll just need to cut my losses and change to a different network provider.0 -
Why would you need to change provider? At least two posters, myself included, have given you a viable solution?

Sorry hieveryone, I had replied to the first post before I had realised I had 2 further replies.
I will call in the morning to see if I can get a booster as I don't want to change providers, that will only be as a last resort sort of thing.
Thanks :j0 -
Yep, you need the EE 'Signal box' (technical name a femtocell). They are hard to get though.

You pay an extortionate £50 a month so they would want to keep you. Insist on the box for free.0
