Life after an iva ... The journey into the debt free world

Patman - I have fun and games with tax over my exam marking before. They sent me a letter saying I owed them money. I queried it and then sent me print out with my exam marking not on it. I ended up ringing and they asked if was self employment as they had no record. Luckily I was prepared and had all paye details to hand. I then owed them nothing. Letters from official bodies always make me panic. Hopefully I'll see this week if I have a tax code and take it from there!

Torture again this week as I am down to pennies again. I have promised the girls a treat this weekend. It will probably be a take away for less than a tenner and a trip to sealife/Lego as we have free entry with merlin passes.

Sat here doing my clicks whilst I wait for my turn with mr tax man to sort my code.

No work, no meetings, no activities for girls so today is free. I can take a breath, catch up, tidy etc. I also miscalculated and have a tenner left to get some fruit etc!

Payday tomoz and I have written down all that is outstanding. Dd also needs phone topping up etc. I am hoping it will put me back on track so that my normal budget for coming months settles and I've no panics about petrol etc.

Still waiting my turn so off to do some one handed tidying up!

tibawo you need to sort-out your signature as it has been corrupted.
Just go to 'User CP' and select 'Edit Signature'. Then 'save'. This seams to fix the problem and restore everything back to normal.

Good luck with the Tax man. I will be waiting until I have my P60 after the end of the current Tax year before I tackle HMRC.

Btw, is it me, or are the Nectarad points becoming scarce ?. Only 16 points this week so far.

Yeah, been paid! Still at 0T but as I know this is being sorted I feel I can rock something else off my list.

Dd made me chuckle. She came home and told me I was not allowed to buy my bottle of wine this week. I thought she was accusing me of drinking too much. It wasn't, just that she knows we have to watch the budget at the moment and she has food tech now and needs ingredients. I did ask could we not give up her stuff and I got 'the look' .

Got waylaid this morning chatting to friend so now way behind on what I need to do.

Patman - agree that the appoints are few and far between but have you been doing the slot machine thing for the giveaway?

Went to pay for the girls dance clubs today, these were included in my budget yesterday and puts me back in credit so to speak. Although there is little in the bank now, food is bought, still a few bills to sort but can't do them till Monday, I've put the girls activity money in an envelope ready as well. Sure I've forgotten something!

Not done much today but it actually is nice just to chill sometimes!

Patman... On the home page there is an advert for 'thanks in a million' click on it for more info. Then on the right of the page about the third of the way down is an advert for three spins. I have only won 20 points but only takes a couple of seconds to do.

Well, sat here using our free entry merlin passes and am just about to fill in my plans for work using the free wifi. Girls are happily playing...so nice to see. Really glad I came. We brought in treats from home so really only cost the petrol.

Don't feel I've come far on the savings journey but I am finding my feet. It has been nearly fifteen months since finishing my iva and yes, I do have some debts but they are under control and being used to build up my credit rating. If I get a debt free Xmas I will be so proud of myself!

We still have homework to do and tidy but this can be done before X factor etc and tidying in the adverts. One of the girls rooms is a pig sty but they are so good with when I say we have not got money to do that, that sometimes I feel it is good sometimes to just tell them to get their shoes on we're going out!

Have got my list ready for tomoz on what to do for rest of odds and ends and can't wait for Hawaii five o tonight!

Have a feeling that it is going to be one of those days. DD wet the bed last night; not done it for ages but seems to be triggered when stressed and she had two tests today. She nearly bit sisters head off when she came bounding into room with some exciting snippet. She then looks at time and bursts out crying as she is going to be late for school as she is not ready. In the end I took them both.

Now home I have done my list for today. Luckily its just jobs and no costs involved.

Financially I know bills are paid and this week managed to scrape together cash for other daughters panto trip. Payday next week should cover the monthly bills so my weekly cash from ctc etc should cover everything else. I also got my tax code sorted so hope that has an affect on my pay but am confused now as two employes at tax office say I will get a refund soon and a third says it will not be sorted until the end of the year. What will be will be!!

On a good note looks like I have picked up a few more hours at work till February half term which is fab as I can pay offf the leccy etc.

Off for my caffeine intake and then will get going.

Got a letter from the tax man yesterday telling me about my new code. The letter says that if I have overpaid it will be in my next pay. I do hope so and what the third lady says was wrong as I could sort a few things. It may also mean I can start looking into putting money into savings etc which is one of the reasons I started this diary as I don't want to be hand to mouth for the rest of my life.

Last night we worked together on tidying up, we have our sun 9.50 hol to go to on Monday but are out tomoz and I have a rule that we cannot pack unless house straight. Youngest made me laugh as she wanted to sleep in my room because she does not want to mess her bed etc and have to tidy it today!

I made a list (I am a list person) of what needs doing this half term as well. Have noticed it seems really dark this morning compared to normal but am refusing to put light on.

Not done the clicks yet. Not keen on the new superpoints as it seems to take to long. Think I'll just stick with my normal ones.
