Life after an iva ... The journey into the debt free world

Well want a day...

Did car boot and manage to come away with just shy of £50. If anyone knows somewhere I can sell VHS tapes would appreciate it. Realise I will only get pennies but they all mount up!

Got home to find my new phone is here. I would tell you all about it but let's just say other younger people are just downloading their apps on it. I keep pointing out that it is my phone but to no avail.

The place were I have zero contract with rang to say they have work for me... Yeah! I am so happy... Means I can relax abit now about the bills and start to focus on clearing the bits I've built up, Xmas etc.

Consequently the house has bits that have just been dumped down but won't take long to sort.

Just doing my clicks now while I have a brew before taking girls to activities.

Woke with a smile on my face as I think I have now more than enough hours at the moment to pay next months bills! Not wanting to get ahead of myself but I should have enough hours till Xmas at least. Such a relief as it means I can start to build a buffer, pay of the arrears, sort Xmas pressie and really think about 'life after an iva'

So today I have a couple of mystery shops to do. I am going to get this money paid into a separate account. So will sort get onto this later. I have read about separate bank accounts so thinking of one for monthly bills, one for weekly ones, one for mystery shop (which can be used for treats?) and I am tempted by the tesco current account so I can use it to buy my petrol up front. I was going to use my luma card for this but I might use this for my capped phone contract and pay off in full to build up credit score. Hope that makes sense?

To add to that I have just received a virgin statement to say I have £30 in an account. I have been paying a pound a month which I had forgotten about. I might use this one to save for holidays? Need to think about it.

Task two is in progress. Now that I have got new phone I have bookmarked the daily click websites so that when I am in mums taxi routine I can do some whilst waiting for girls from various activities. Means I can do my three stp songs as every bit counts!

Task three is house things ... Tbh the general tidy will prob take me an hour tops so will do this after mystery shops. Means that once girls done hwk etc we can chill! Looking to next week I will prob draw up the reward chart as it will be the first one where I am back at work.

My other job today is to start putting things into my phone. I am finally getting a buzz about having a smart phone rather than my bog standard one !

I had yesterday so well planned and it all went pear shaped!

I did the mystery shops and forgot the photo so need to sort that this weekend. However I did get dds replacement pe kit which is only sold in a certain shop. Luckily I remembered to take the surplus clothes from the car boot to cash for clothes, only got £2 but better than nothing. I picked up the pizza offer that i saw over on hotuk never got chance to cash in for the second as was going to do it after met friend but she invited me round for coffee after!

Task one and task three never got done as I had forgotten I was meeting her and was also longer than usual. Not moaning as I like seeing her. During the day I was also asked to do a job for the folks, I know I could have refused but they do so much for me and will be helping out when I'm at work. I would have said no if my stuff was urgent.

So this weekend is the normal Saturday job plus the plans not done yesterday. But just checked diary and dd has an extra practice today to squash in!

Managed to get two pizzas yesterday as dance class right by Morrisons. So pleased with that.

house not done yet as homework is being tackled first. Slow cooker on with tea. Drying needs doing. But all going ok. Paperwork to be tackled though.

Clicks done for today... Yeah!

Not had chance to look at current accounts as busy doing budget for this week as I pay petrol upfront so need to factors that in.

Lazy day today I think!

Quite pleased with how today went as it was first day back and crammed evening of kids activities. Managed my clicks but I can forget any financial bits and housework needs to be kept to a minimum as am tired! Must remember this on a Monday!

Think this is also to do with helping with homework! Poor dd had eight pieces on Thursday and fri, literally one per subject and she puts her heart and soul into every piece and is so scared she will get in trouble if it is not done. Then more today.

Well, getting I to the routine of work and what works with slow cooker etc. been hard as my client not turned up so I have two hours to kill and if I stay around I'll wander round shops and spend but if I come home I have to pay petrol. I don't know the area well enough but today discovered a wetherspoons so am going to check if they still do bottomless coffee in the morning as they have free wifi. I will be back off to the next client soon.


Paperwork is piled up ready for tonight/ tomoz. It is not too bad but have car insurance etc to look into so might take a while.

Have managed to Hoover and tidy rest of house in my unexpected break and pleased I have managed to unblock the Hoover which has saved some pennies.

Not quite done my clicks but instagc videos not working for me.

Have a decision to make as to whether to submit paperwork for housing benefit whilst I was not working or just to leave it. It's a hassle finding all the bits and tbh it would pay a chunk off the leccy but in next four weeks I should be attacking the bills anyway.

Off to get dinner now as I can smell the stuff for tea in the slow cooker and am hungry!

Sat down and organised day and then dd texted to say she is walking home tonight so am having to reorganise how I do things as I thought I'd leave early and do the car jobs then! Typical!

I'm actually sat here colouring some of her homework while doing my clicks!

Am ploughing thru my to do list and even the paperwork and house work look like they'll be done before get dd2 from school. After this have some bits to do for guides stall at coffee morning for dd then I can go to meet up with friends tonight and enjoy myself. Can't wait!

Also working now and got enough hours to pay bills and a bit more so can start the Xmas present hunting.

Nearly a month up and then I will post summary of how first month out of iva is going.

Can't believe I've missed a few days posting. However the good news to me is that I have been doing clicks, house so they must be becoming a habit now and fit in well with my daily ritual!

Bit of a panic over cash flow, (when isn't there?) mainly because I have to pay petrol up from for the month and it costs £40 a week. This is steep when you've not had a pay packet or other money coming in!

Work is going well. Bit strange doing a three day week as it means that I going to be over half way through the week by the end of today and it's only Tuesday! I have no drop in income from last term just more hours done each day which suits me fine. I find it so much less stressful.

I really can't get used to working three days, not complaining but saying to people have a good weekend on Wednesday doesn't half feel strange.

Going to get my to do list together after I've done the school run. One thing that came to my attention was dd2 is going on a brownie camp and when filling in health form I noticed I have no record for her tetanus since she was 1. Although I will try and remain calm sorting it as I know, in part it is my responsibility, but I am sure you used to get reminders?

The days are getting grey here and the temperature has dropped, there was a chill in the air when I got up so know the discussion about heating will be coming. Something else I will have to budget for. Not good when I'm in arrears.

Must admit not done much about finances as am really scrimping till next week when I get first pay. But glad I did have iva because living on pennies doesn't scare me like it did when I used to have my head in the sand.

Where has today gone? I don't feel rushed, it has just gone fast.

The window cleaner will be taking the last of my cash. Dd1 wanted to go to mcd with her friends and I told her she will have to use her own money as I have nothing until tomorrow.

I am counting the days down to pay day.

House straight. Daily clicks done. Can't do anything about finances as have none!

Must be wine o'clock!
