We have one that DD got for sending in a letter.

Above is the attractions that offer discount.
Blue Peter badge holders can visit over 200 places in the UK for free! Badge Attractions will admit one badge winner (with a badge and badge winners card) when accompanied by a full paying adult.

Doesn't say that the badge holder needs to be under 16 or 18.

You can apply for a badge for no reason, they even accept group applications

Once you get your badge, you then need to apply for a card to go with it (to get the discount)

To get your Badge Card you need to be aged between 6-15 years old

Can't see a restriction on how long you can use it.

My step dad has one because he appeared on the show in the mid 1980's.
He had to ask for it though!
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.
  • My daughter has 3! The blue and white one, a silver one and a green and white one. She got them for sending in a picture, making a booklet about badgers and writing a poem about the environment.

Many of her school friends have them too and a whole class at her school got one. You receive a card (with your photo) with the badge which is what you use to gain entry to places for free (you only get one of the cards obviously, regardless of how many badges you have). It's been really useful - the other week a load of us went to Thorpe Park and only the adults paid to get in:T
Many lovely wins over the years - thanks to all that post:A
  • My daughter has the green & white one for writing a poem and drawing a pic about our environment and how we should save it.

She also has a GOLD one for saving my life when she was just 6! Very well deserved.

Hers are on the fireplace, never been used for discounts.

Hi guys , sorry if this is in the wrong place i apologize however my little cousin has got his blue peter badge and he applied for the card, The card came however on the card it says attach your photo. However it is a plastic card and i was wondering should they not have attached the photo?

    Or are we missing something?
  • You print off your own photo and stick it on- there's a sheet of clear plastic attached to the card that then goes over the top.

I have a blue and white shield badge from 1970 - I was a runner-up in a 'Design a Dress for Val' competition.
Never realised I could use it for discounts and feel slightly cheated 44 years later!
  • I have one, its a competition winners badge and still in pristine condition along with the dinosaur notebook I won. My picture was displayed in the Natural Science Museum in London and my dad took my down on the train from Cheshire to see it.

It came with a list of places I could get free entry and for years I'd write to Blue Peter for an updated list but only used it a few times as there weren't many places to use it where I live. I've not tried using it for a long time but treasure it all the same.

No BP badge, but I've got a Crackerjack pencil.
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !
  • I found one in a box of antique coins that I had in my wardrobe as a kid, the coins were inherited from my father who got them in the 40s so not something that was accidentally sold to me.

No idea where it came from, dont recall ever sending anything in to them let alone winning. Was in my 20s when I found it so didnt really fancy trying to use it for discounts etc
