NPM helps me loads. I've got her of facebook and have been chatting to her xxx0 -
Sistercas well done to your DD, fantastic I am so pleased for you all xx
Candlelight well done to your dgs too xxxx
Mrs MH don't know that I can say much to help, but I can give a big hug to you xx0 -
MrsMH- can you ask for a second opinion from another GP? If not maybe get them to give a full written explanation as to why they won't refer you, and then go to you local MP and ask him/her to take it up for you. I am very sorry that they are putting you through so much strife when you should be getting support x
Candlelight- wonderful! I bet your thrilled x
Judi- I was really brought down by the counsellers comment, it was very tactless I think. I have been seeing her on and off for ten years now so it is easy to keep using her as she has all the backstory as it were, but this isn't the first time she's said something that hasn't sat right
I got my hospital letter with an appointment for this Sunday at a hospital 40 mins away rather than my usual one just a 10 minute drive away. I rang the Dr who had been nice to me the other night and asked if she could get me one at my usual hospital as I'm familiar with it and feel safer there, but she said rather than wait for a new appointment I should go anyway and see what they say. I said that if the need to do an operation I really want to be at my normal hospital, and she said that was fine and they are connected and the surgery cases are sent from there to my usual one. I looked on the website though and it says they have a their own surgical unit, so I don't know if she's mistaken. I really hope not.
DS2 failed two of his AS exams so we don't know what to do. He could carry on with the two he passed, but it will really limit his uni options and also one was a subject he didn't particularly enjoy. He said if he has to redo the year then he will go to a different sixth form but doesn't know which.
DH made a lovely bacon and cheese pasta for dinner. We looked at a farm for sale as I've banged on for the last 18 years about wanting to have a smallholding. As I stood on the land I suddenly said "Gosh it's very quiet. I actually like looking out our window at home at all the people passing by. I think I'd get lonely here" Poor man. No wonder he's lost most of his hair :rotfl:0 -
Congratulations to those passing exams, hope you all have a great celebration.
Mrs MH - Ask for a second opinion. Does DS go to nursery? If so ask them for a referral too. Big hugs to you, it's a lot to cope with. Glad you had a good time at the farm though.0 -
Mrs MH - are you under Camhs as the Dr's there used to be able to prescribe melatonin. I always used to get my ds2 prescription there until I moved to Essex, now as long as consultant says yes then my own dr signs the prescription. Sorry you're having such a tough time.0

Sorry just keep nipping in as I said RL got In the way of posting. My dh sister died suddenly a few weeks ago. It was a total shock and unexpected as she just over 50. I think part of it was due to her lifestyle unfortunately. Although we hadn't seen her for a while she did ring on a regular basis.
We also had a few days away on a canal barge (it was hard work to say the least) both my Ds went and my dm, all in a confined space say no more. Parts of it were really good though.
Tomorrow I'm off to Spain for 2 weeks. I am ready just to do nothing as is my dh. He works so hard all year and loves his holidays, he is just so worn out at the moment though.
Os - very little just trying to keep on top of house and garden, when I have been here, as I spent a week with my dgs who is now 3 months old
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0 -
I hope you both enjoy your holiday in Spain Topsy. Very tragic about your DHs sister, I hope all the family are coping x0

Hi Chums just back from DDs its her wedding anniversary today and her eldest son my beautiful Ben passed his three A levels and has got his first choice at Uni. He is off to University of East Anglia in Norwich, he had four offers from different Uni's (one was from Cambridge !! ) but Norwich was the one he really wanted to go to. I am so pleased for him as 12 years ago when he changed schools, (Dd and family moved house ) he could just about write his own name at 6. What a smashing anniversary present it was for his parents. He is such a grafter bless him, and very focussed on what he wants.
Well we are off to the Isle of Wight in the morning for two weeks, fingers crossed the weather will be kind. My car is packed and bursting at the seams, and I only have my handbag and knitting bag to go in tomorrow morning:) can't do without my needles and wool.
Hope everyone has a peaceful and productive fortnight ahead and hopefully I'll see you all when I get back
Cheers everyone, from one very happy Grandma
