I do feel for you Mr Bear. Being faceless in not being able to tell you bad news is weak in itself.
I understand you would rather know if it's a no go si you can move in and try to arrange something else.
Hope all goes well.0 -
Hi to all. So here is an update regarding our remortgage situation. Our broker finally contacted us on Monday to say he had instructed his solicitor to do a bankruptcy check on my partner and there is nothing showing at all so we can ahead with the application with Aldermore. So today I am patiently waiting for the surveyor to come to do a valuation. The house has never been so clean! So everything now rests on what this surveyor says to Aldermore. My only concern is that it is a timber framed property but it is brick at the bottom and cladding at the top so hopefully this will be ok. After checking their website this shouldn't be a problem,. Any last minute advice for when they arrive guys?? :eek:0

Yes. Our broker brought it round when he came with all the paperwork for us to sign. I suppose it's just a matter of waiting to see what happens with the valuation now. It seemed quite positive. He asked what figure I had and I quoted the same as the house that is on the market 3 doors down and he nodded his head in agreement. He said we should hear from Aldermore in about a week but I'm sure I read on here there is more of a wait than this due to a backlog of applications??0

You might have a view on the valuation early next month but the offer will most likely take 15 to 20 days.I am a Mortgage Broker

That's fine. There is no hurry. Just hope it is valued to what we think it is worth0

Had a call today from the broker saying the valuation has gone through fine and the lender are happy to lend on our timber framed property as there are no problems with it
He says we will now wait around 15 days for an offer. Hopefully it is what we expect as there is a house 3 doors down going for £75000 and that is what our broker expects especially as we are an end terrace unlike theirs which are more valuable. So now we wait! Any idea what the timescale is from offer to completion anyone? Will it be more complicated because it is a transfer of equity?

If the other party is playing ball a few months at most. I've seen them drag in for 18 months but they were complicated cases.0
