I mainly use frames from Wilk-insons - I suppose it depends on how you want to frame it - are you going for a floating effect or just backing it and mounting it? (pics of my work via my homepage link) - might give you some ideas.

They are amazing! Mine is nowhere near that good.

I want to use grey paper at the back as the paper cut is white and their sofa is grey but they don't have much in the room that picks out the colour, so thought this would be a nice idea. I never thought to look in Wilkinson, I'll have to pop in and have a look. Cheers

  • I hope it's ok to post this here.... I'm trying to find some ideas of a gift I can make for a VERY awkward couple on my family, they have everything & need nothing, they have no common interests & don't even spend that much time together :wall: also I'm not really sure they appreciate any gifts but as they are family I have to do something.... can anyone suggest something other than a bottle of wine (I suspect they just give these away any way lol)

    Thanks

    Thanks guys :)

Bored - maybe put together a "games night" hamper for them - might bring them together? Or a "couples pamper hamper" with a few candles, some nice bath/shower bits, some massage oil (the "l-ush" massage bars are fab)....again it might bring them together but if not then it's all usable stuff on its own.

How about a food related hamper? Everyone has to eat :p , so maybe include a bottle of wine and depending on how soon you give it to them maybe include some cheese etc?

boredjellybean - what about a 'date night kit' rom com DVD, hot chocolate makings, popcorn etc - might mean they spend some more time together.

Maybe they are just the type of people you can,t please - so a token gift is all thats necessary, if any at all x

  • First of all Congrats to you Islandmaid on your wedding :T

Secondly I've been scoping out Pinterest and found this...

I'd love to have Go at it but I can't find any instructions!
(I know it looks basic but no measurements etc) it's pinned as a gift to make in advance but all links take you to a shop on etsy! :(
Any ideas or just wing it!?

Thanks Chystal - we had a fab day, so laid back and relaxed

That looks fab, I would say a length of wood you would use for a door surround or skirting board is whats needed - many DIY shops and builders merchants have damaged lengths which they would happily chop down for you.

Drill a couple of hole for the ribbon, paint, decorate - screw in some hooks and use dog tags, or possibly a hardware shop might have the 'tallies' which could be sprayed with metal paint

Hmmm.... Got me thinking now - OH is a joiner so has lots of odds and ends - might have to get all 'crafty' on him ;)
