car dealership cancelled my order after I complained to manufacturers about poor cs

Thank you so much for everyone taking the time to comment and offer advice, much appreciated. Seems the dealership are continuing to lie - I was wrongly informed by them this afternoon that they cancelled my order due to my partner being rude to the receptionist. VW called this evening and said that they were informed by the dealership that the order was cancelled because we wrote a negative review on Carwow. Indeed, after this incident was supposed to have occured with the receptionist the salesperson had spoken to us and confirmed a delivery date so the chronology of events doesn't make sense.
It appears the dealers are blowing up my partners call to make a case for cancelling our order grabbing at straws retrospectively. Incidentally the receptionist told my partner on four sepwrate occasions over two days that the salesperson would phone back at a specified time - on the fith call and having received no response my partner questioned whether he would receive a call or whether she was providing false information,. I spoke to her this morning and she lied about the salesperson being in training and pretty much told me not to phone back.
Lesson learnt is to be less naieve in terms of leaving negative feedback before exchange of goods.
Vw have been great by the way and are working with us to locate another vehicle. They told us not to bother with the dealership as we already have a fractious relationship.0 -
Update - carwow have sent an email saying thst they have ceased trading with the dealership.
Good to know that VW and carwow value customers0 -
out of interest are you buying this on pcp or hp ?
a large deposit, doesnt always help at end of term if on pcp, even if monthly figures are lower as it will have a higher final payment at the end to meet equity
walking in to another dealer with a price quote from an online company as a determined buyer will mean most dealers will find some way of getting the figures to match what you want them too, they have targets to hit. they may have a prespeced car they can sell you, that may have some extra options free that you can take too.
online is ok for somethings, but ive always negotiated better in person with car sales0 -
Thanks whitelabel. We were buying on pcp.
Would you suggest not putting down the maximum deposit. When I say large I mean ghe maximum they allow on pcp - I think in our instance it was £3250; or thereabouts.
What has made it difficult is the new model has only been released in July so there are not many cars in the country and definitely not cars sitting around in dealerships therefore we have found it hard to negotiate face to face - we did try with another dealership back in july although maybe there is more room to do that now we are in august.0 -
I'd be more concerned that you are moving, finding finance with a new address especially if it has a new mortgage might prove 'interesting'.
If the finance is through VW make sure you don't lose the contact you have now, they may be able to assist to ensure your finance is ported over.0 -
