Thank you - I agree the cs is likely to be any good in the after sale period. I'm more annoyed about the sheer unprofessionalism of the sales person refusing to speak with me or explain reasoning behind the cancellation.
If I acted like that in my job with clients I wouldn't have a job!
Does anyone know if the footprint left oon my credit record from the finance agreement should be anything to worry about as obviously if I order elsewhere I will have to get another agreement in place.0 -
What is the Brand?
Is is Korean?0 -
The sales person is so incompetent that he has just left a voicemail on my phone to say my car is ready to pick up. Clearly phoned the wrong number and clearly not away on training all day today!0

Or the order wasnt cancelled?0 -
As above, you need to check your contract.
If the terms state that you would be unable to cancel without being liable for their losses, then they cannot cancel without being liable for yours (ie if you have to pay more for the same car elsewhere then you could technically claim the difference from the first dealership). In order for a contract to be considered fair/balanced, it must be equally binding on both parties.
However you are expected to mitigate your losses where reasonably possible. So if you can get the same car elsewhere on the same deal then your losses are nil.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Well his colleague informed me just this morning that it had been sold to someone else. So I phoned back following the voicemail but he wasn't available to speak when I gave my name so I am awaiting a call back!0

Is the dealership close by? May it not be worth doing this face to face? Its much easier to treat people badly when they are on the end of the phone rather than the middle of the shop floor0

It's a 40 minute train journey so is do-able at the weekend. The problem is that if they have indeed sold our car then we have to order again which can take up to three months which is no good for us as we are moving to another part of the country next month.0

They don't actually know that we are moving away but I do wonder whether they perceive us as not big enough custom as we have not opted for any option upgrades that they make a big mark up on and have choosen to put a large deposit down so that our monthly repayments are kept low - again I think the dealerships make money on the finance arrangements?
To top it off the deal is £1500 less than the manufacturer price so upon reflection I think they don't see us as profitable for them.
I would rather they tell us that than say it is because we complained at their lack of cs in taking days to get back to us and not meeting their agreement to let us know when the car arrived.0
