    Hi
There are lots of things that I cannot cook, But everyon eloves my lasagne. Have you tried using fresh lasagne sheets? I usually cook the mince for just under an hour, so that there is very little "sauce" left, but then add a layer of cheese sauce to the lasagne layers. I usually have about 3 cheese sauce layers.

Another one for beef. I cant cook beef to save my life. It ends up really tough and not edible at all. I do buy beef though, i just buy it in the form of minced beef.

  • Cakes - always seem to slighty over cook them, or get the proportions wrong so the top is never tender.
Steaks and beef - cannot get them right, lucky Mr can roast beef well.
    Put the kettle on. ;)
  • Biscuits are my nemesis - they always end up ridiculously huge and thin and burnt on the bottom. Might have another shot this week though...

Mashed potato is almost always lumpy.

My pancakes have also gone downhill.

We also keep trying and failing to make a decent curry sauce - the first time we tried we wondered why it had gone so badly then realised we hadn't actually put anything resembling curry ingredients (like powder etc) in! Other attempts still just taste like a mildly spicy tomato sauce, I just buy jars now.

    I'm sure there's more!

These are my kitchen boo boos...

Making a Ruox for a white sauce...it always comes out lumpy...
Poaching an egg..I've tried every method going & it always ends up looking like gawd knows what...
Baking bread...always ends up like a lump of concrete...
  • I have good success with most cooking, but I can't make Pot Roast to save my life. I've tried different methods, recipies, advice, etc, but it always comes out tough as shoe leather. Dh, on the other hand, just plops one in the crockpot, adds the various ingredients.... cooks it on high for several hours.....and its perfect. Every time. : )

Have you tried the silicone egg poachers? They are brilliant, highly recommend them.

I thought the OP meant item as it something really obvious you should have in the kitchen but always forget to buy lol so I was about to type rolling pin ( yes I have made pastry using a glass lmao!) but them I realised that wasn't what this thread is about lol. Lasagne. I can never get the right consistency. It is always chewy when I make it.
  • Stir fries. A glorious combination of burnt and raw indigestability :p
You could build houses out of my bread too, good job I no longer eat it...

  • I'm not too bad with most things, and no one in my family has been made ill or complained that something was that bad but.... when i make bombay potatoes either a packet mix (in the past) or made from scratch it always tastes burnt and bitter, and none of is burnt!! it must be something to do with the spices and toasting them.
