It was Sky's "activation" antics that bemused me...
Indeed. Our strong suspicions that this was nothing more than a poor marketing gimmick have turned out to be true.0 -
Hi, I am gonna upgrade to sky sports today. What are the chances of discount? Do they like a haggle on the phone? Any offers?'I have internet and broadband so I take it I will not qualify for the above offer? Many thanks0

33% I'd say. Sky don't actually enjoy handing out offers if they can help it. Some CS agents are pretty nice so if you get lucky and catch a good one you could get something like 1/2 price for 3 months. It's 100% worth trying if you need to have the sports on before the new Football season starts as you can't use the usual ' cancel and wait for a good offer play'.0 -

Only current deal is free broadband for two years if you subscribe to Sky Sports. Means being tied into a minimum term for that period though.0 -
It's to tie you in with broadband for the 2 years, so people don't jump ship in 12 months time to BT so they get the champions league for nothing (not that I expect it to still be free with BT Broadband then).
You can bet there is massive cancellation clause for their "free" BB for Sports Subscribers.
It is all one massive game.
Personally I leave them all to fight among themselves. Go with Plusnet, you get full 80mb fibre, they are part of BT so you get cheap BT Sports anyway (through sky).
I play the sky cancel game every year as it is so mine can go off for a couple of months at a time (they always beg you back) so I needed to have my broadband separate.0 -
Just spoke to sky, the said £ 17.50 with 2 years broadband, I asked for a year but she said no, she offered me sky sports on its own, she said try the value line for better offers!!!!!!0

On its own for £24.50 :mad:0

There is actually an offer of £20 discount online. I upgraded online for £22 with discount. Hope this helps.0

Hi this is my first post but I am comletely at a loss. Perhaps I read the newsletter wrongly but it says if you have Sky TV and add Sky sports and 2 years free broadband you get £125 M & S voucher. I did this through the appropriate link and in the date required. I then recived a voucher for £25. I queried this with Sky and they told me there never was an offer for £125. Is this a Martin Lewis mistake or Sky's?0

the only £125 offer I remember was for NEW customers signing up , not for existing customers
