Sky sports with free internet

Sky Sports - now even better with 2 years free Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Sports 5. I have sky BB and sky talk but phone line with BT. I want to upgrade to sky sports, does anybody know whether I need to have line with sky to qualify for this deal. Thanks

Yes you do. From their site:
To be eligible for 2 years free unlimited broadband you must be and remain a Sky Broadband Unlimited, Sky Talk, Line Rental and Sky TV with Sky Sports customer throughout the offer period and activate Sky Sports 5 (launches 12.08.14.).

I love the way they insist the customer "activate" Sky Sports 5, a TV channel which launches regardless this week to anyone who has a Sky Sports subscription!

Anyone else amused by the re-launch of "Sky Sports News" as "Sky Sports News HQ HD"? :)

and the branding of Sky Sports 5 as their "new home for European Football " , they seem to have lost most of it to BT Sport ??

They've got one more year of champions league. Sky sports 5 exists to annoy bt as you can't get sky sports 5 on their platform. Therefore if you have BT you won't get any champions league games this season.

It's a clever way of annoying another company!

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Anyone subscribed to Sky Sports who hasn't "activated" it will still be able to tune in, which just makes a nonsense of the whole promotion. The channel is actually already viewable, it's had a showreel and countdown to launch for a number of weeks.

I told you it would launch to "anyone with a Sky Sports subscription", that includes Virgin and BT viewers.

It was Sky's "activation" antics that bemused me...
